Work in progresss.Begun as a little tribute piece some 4 years ago (roughly about 28 dog years!) as a little nod to some of my childhood favourite artists - Frazetta, Boris, Buschema, Jusko to name a few. Sat incomplete on one of my hard drives all this time, and lately I've been sneaking in time to work on it some more. Its still incomplete, but I thought I'd post this character and a snippet from the background. Had a bunny rabbit tattoo on his shoulder, but decided against it for the moment.

This is SO perfect. From the raging veins in his gi-normous muscles to the snarl on his face.
I pretty much grew up in a Worlds Gym, since my dad was a personal trainer for over 20 years. And I gotta tell you - you've nailed the body-type and his IQ brilliantly.
I agree, the bunny-rabbit tattoo would have distracted away from the pic. Doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere else, though.

Used to be a bit of a gym regular myself until a should injury kind of made it a bad idea. My favourite was always the really big guy who would strip down to the briefest of thongs and practice his posing in front of the mirror.

this really captured the bad-ass awesomeness of Conan. the bunny tattoo would be funny . I would imagine if governor Arnold would have a bunny tattoo..

Did you take some reference on Schwarzie for Conan's face?
I don't know if it's intentional... but there is a family likeness.

Didnt really use any reference for the original sketch, just seemed natural to give him a 'Schwarzie' style chin. Did look at some pics of him as Conan when I got to the colouring stage though.

Thats funny, coz one of the things I admire most about your stuff is how fresh your finished work is - and thats so easy to lose from the spontaneity of the original sketch.
