I love that pecil drawing. When I first saw it I was reminded
of my childhood Asterix and Obelix comics (that I still have and love)
They always made me feel so happy and safe.

I grew up with Asterix and Obelix too! Love Uderzos art, and though I never copied it or tried to mimic his style, I'm sure a little bit just crept in from years of enjoying his work.

It is something about the jolliness and rounded
lines that instantly puts me in that same mood.
If anything crept into your style from enjoying
Uderzos art, I'd say it is more of a feeling than
an actual likeness.
Marvel and DC are great publishing houses of course,
but just.. well they just don't have the same personality
in their characters in my opinion, it is all just too
"cool". I'm not denying I have tons (that is probably
literally true) of Marvel and DC, but it is the comics
like Asterix and Obelix, Spirou, Lucky Luke that I
still love as much today as then.
(And of course Conan! Can't get enough Conan ever. ^_^)

Absolutely wicked matey! Loving that dangling globule of saliva! I always adore how you combine realistic lighting and shading with your over the top cartoon style. You've achieved an excellent sense of shape and roundness.
I can only imagine how much detail you've painted on his iris alone!

Probably went a little TOO nuts on the detail on this one - a lot of it isn't really noticeable at this scale, let alone the size most people will view the whole thing when its finished
And you can never have enough good saliva in an illustration I say
