Ah, tis a wondrous tapestry of colour and light, a maiden and her pet that doth fill my sight. A strange mystical portrait to bewitch and to delight, from the mind of sir Dave the Loopy,Β a most noble if somewhat 'troubled' knight

Loving the skills mate, you just keep getting better and better.

I was surprised to learn da Vinci is only known for, like, six completed (maybe) master works, this being one of them.Β  Much of his time was used designing weapons (on speculation) because that's where the real cash was.Β  So a lesson from a master, start sketching grenade launchers and cash in... and also avoid being typecast as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle even if the price seems right.

Excellent advice there - the sad fact of life is money and power will always trump the arts and pursuits of beauty! I'm not bitter. No not really

Ha-ha, nice twist on the classic portrait!! Β  But I think a tiny wisp of smoke from the dragon's nostrils would have been an added delight...

Lady Dizzybelle has yet to realize that her cat, Fluffums, is no longer in her arms.Β  Lady Dizzybelle is a little slow on the uptake.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Loopydave In reply to GregBell [2014-11-19 12:39:41 +0000 UTC]

I think Lady Dizzybelle tied her own hair a bit too tight around her own neck and has cut off much of the blood flow to her own brain

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GregBell In reply to Loopydave [2014-11-23 12:43:49 +0000 UTC]

I think Lady Dizzybelle has many issues: some not so apparent.Β  - - - If you know what I mean {Wink, wink. Nod, nod.Β Β Nudge, nudge.}Β Thank you John Cleese.
Also think thisΒ piece is a great example of Leonardo utilizing his art work to be "studies".Β  As one of your fans noted, the hand is magnificently done.Β  Which does segue nicely into; you are the only artist that I know on DA whose comment section is worth reading.Β  Your work has attractedΒ a fewΒ intelligent aficionados of art.Β  That stands you out from the crowd.Β  Playing guitar in front of the Melbourne town hall wearing nothing save butt-less chaps and red, lacy Valentines day underwear would stand you out from the crowd as well.Β Which on the surface,Β eliminates me from being amongst the select group of the I.A.'s of Art.Β

gregor-kari In reply to Loopydave [2014-11-20 10:31:44 +0000 UTC]

Leonardos hands are pretty awesome! I also like the ones from Michaelangelo, but Leonardos seem to be a bit more elegant to me because there is that flow in the lines and still a believable anatomy. Thats what I also like in your piece as well!
