Absolutely beautiful work; as did many others, at first I thought it was a photo.
The degree of detail, the shading, the subtle palette, are exquisite. The subject may be commonplace and something most people barely even notice, but your portrait ensures this little bird will not be forgotten.
The only nitpick I have is that I can't figure out what the dark, irregular shapes extending over the wing feathers in a few places are; bits of broken leaves or paint flakes, perhaps?
Congratulations on receiving a DD for this; it's certainly well-deserved!
