Description
Morph like smokeWorking title: Mental Tango
I decided to give ink a rest for awhile. A lot has changed in a very small amount of time in my life, and I need to focus on something stable. I can't really remember when I started this piece, if it was before or after my world got tilted on its side. Would make more sense if it was after, since shit like this is vent-y for me.
Pieces like this are calming for me. They are like therapy, they just sort of form. Morph. Suit my mood, suit my situation. Without really realizing it, my pieces tell a story of that time. Sometimes I don't see it until later. Sometimes someone has to point it out to me, and other people close to me associate it with good or bad times.

This is awesome. I love the detail put into the feathers, and the eye... and the beak. It's just awesome overall

Beautifully done! Pretty cool that your drawings can really reveal a story of a period of your life. Unique! The bird looks very dimensional and the transition into different animals is masterfully done.
Do you have tutorials for shading?

Thanks! My boyfriend pointed it out to me, he mentioned that for one of my pieces he likes it aesthetically, but he doesn't like it. I asked him why and he said that it was a sort of vent piece in a very hard time in my life and that it reminded him of my pain. Kinda had a bit of a revelation there.
Mm currently I don't. But its a lot of cross-hatching and ink washes here
