Description
Nakudoku was said to be some sort of a spirit or demon, if not alive due to the fact that her body has yet to be identified, unknown of her status other than existing. The name Nakudoku translates to 'Crying Poison'. She is approximately 25 years old and has been rumored to roam through hospitals in different areas.
Nakudoku sports a gas mask which is one of the signature keys for identifying the spirit. She also sports a black, formal kimono with a white Spider Lily pattern embedded on it. Many say this was worn since the day of her husband's burial. The weaponry that Nakudoku wields is a pair of large bone-cutting forceps that was theorized to be stolen after fleeing from her incident. Nakudoku's voice can be described as raspy and distorted in a way due to her mask. There were documents and some recordings of her voice recorded after the death of some victims, catching her speaking in what was identified as Japanese and some English as well.
The spirit can be described as mysterious, swift, and agile, and is usually rumored to travel amongst the rooftops of many buildings and houses. Nakudoku is often shy and would more than often hide when glanced upon. Other than that, she can get very violent when it comes to being harmed or touched--being extremely sensitive to physical touch, she can get extremely defensive when it comes to it. Other than being hostile, she can be playful at times, presenting a child-like attitude of curiosity with things in her environment.
This entire legend began in Japan, her home country. Young Nakudoku has always dreamed of the ideal life she wanted, targeting the country of America to be able to pursue her dreams as a successful neurosurgeon and pathologist in the medical industry. This dream soon came to life when she finished college and married a man, a successful artist in Japan who also had the same dreams of traveling to America for opportunities for them and their future child. Not before long, they were able to move to America and start a new life there. The duo had immediately applied for jobs to sustain themselves as well as to start pursuing their dreams at the same time. Nakudoku applied to be a neurosurgeon at a local hospital they had in town and after several interviews, she was hired. The young surgeon was said to be one of the most industrious out of all when she arrived, no matter if she were to engage in surgery or manage corpses in the hospital's morgue. Needless to say, she was very passionate about her dreams and her desires as well as her husband's, both willing to sacrifice time to support themselves financially before they're finally ready to have a baby of their own to which Nakudoku has always dreamed of having. Though with such passion comes obstacles...Not a lot of her co-workers liked her due to her being a foreigner, but Nakudoku didn't let that stop her for she continued to work no matter what others may say about her background.
It all escalated when her husband had gotten into a car crash to which her husband had gotten T-boned right on his side by another car. He was immediately taken into the emergency room and worked on however, despite him being Nakudoku's husband, she was not given the permission to work on him-Higher ups worry about her composure and had advised she'd let the others continue with the surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery was not successful at all, not in the slightest bit and Nakudoku received the news clearly when she was working at the cold morgue once more and as scheduled, finding her husband's name labeled right on the doors. She even went on to check on the case and sure enough...It was her husband.
This completely broke the young surgeon, knowing full and well that she and her happy husband had started practically everything together and have been meaning to reach the goal of having a child of their own-Only for that dream to be shattered into pieces. Nakudoku couldn't believe what she was seeing in front of her as well...They didn't bother sewing up her husband's wounds either and it seemed like they'd only cut him up just to do so instead of trying to save his life. As she was examining her husband's body in distraught, the door of the morgue had shut suddenly, leaving Nakudoku in the morgue as one of her co-workers locked her in the cold room. The young surgeon tried banging on the doors, frantically trying to get out of the cold...It wasn't long before she smelled a type of scent, a scent that was a pungent smell of moldy hay. And that was when it all clicked. Being knowledgeable at most, she knew full and well what chemical they were releasing in the vents...Phosgene...They were trying to gas her and kill her.
She crouched down and held her breath as she frantically searched for a gas mask, fortunately, she was successful as she quickly put on the gas mask, able to save her lungs. Unfortunately for her...Phosgene doesn't only affect the lungs but as well as the skin and eyes. Paired with the frostbites that were forming on her legs, the gas irritated her skin, causing her to let out a blood-curdling scream that was sadly muffled through the thick door of the morgue. Her eyes had gotten watery as they too burned, her entire being was something equivalent to being trapped in a furnace or her organs liquifying in the most violent manner possible. Some of the spare gas that had gotten into her lungs before she got to the gas mask made her cough like she was coughing up a lung. She suffered in that horrid morgue and that's exactly what her co-workers wanted. They wanted nothing to do with any foreigners.
After an hour or so of venting out the excess gas, Nakudoku's co-workers, more so the murderers, began to pile into the morgue with surgical masks...But what confused them more than anything was the location of Nakudoku who was nowhere to be seen at all however, her husband's case was left open and was left uncovered on the table. It wasn't until the door had also slammed shut behind them, someone else had locked them in and had turned the temperature lower than before, and sure enough...The scent of moldy hay roams in the morgue once more.
Many speculated that Nakudoku was able to escape and had been the one who locked these other doctors in the morgue but nothing could back it up for there was no evidence of any residue or fingerprints that were left in the crime scene. However, the killer was more than successful to have murdered over five doctors who have suffered a long, painful death, however, accompanied by most of their bones being cut in multiple directions, theorized to be wounds made sometime after their initial deaths. The autopsy proves that the victim's wounds were caused by being severed by a sharp object so sharp that the perpetrator had even cut through their bones, more specifically cutting the victim's joints and spine, but the extreme damage was open skulls as well as whiplash to the neck which is one of the most common injuries to a T-bone collision, more than likely caused by a pair of large bone forceps.
After these bodies were found, the corpse of her husband was said to have been transported back to Japan for a proper burial. Nakudoku attended way after everyone else and was said to have been weeping silently the entire night while she laid on the ground beside her deceased husband.
No one would know for certain. But what is known is that Nakodoku will never forget the time she experienced xenophobia in her life, her now-deceased husband was a constant reminder of that.
This was all said to have occurred during the early 1940s, some years before World War II had officially ended. Killings were still fluctuating around America, in or near hospitals. Those hospitals specifically are located in or around wooded areas, a place where Nakudoku is rumored to be roaming around in. Many of these killings are left unsolved due to the lack of evidence at all but a common trend that occurred was the use of Phosgene and/or whiplash to the neck, some even decapitated almost. There had also been rumors of a way to summon Nakudoku but those who planned to summon the spirit had no say in it whatsoever due to being reported missing in a matter of time after mentioning and/or actively acting upon it. Most of these missing person cases were often unsolved-if not solved by the discovery of their decaying bodies near the hospital's dumpsters. Most of these victims also include a criminal record involving children and minors, excluding those who may have been the ones who would go missing, assuming after summoning the spirit. Would these be Nakudoku's doings, a copycat, or simply another premeditated murder that would continue throughout history? That question may never be answered.
