Description
Redrew my OC Blue with more of a street look, then shaded it with pencil, then tried charcoal and didn’t care for it (on the hair and face) .. so then I finally went back in with a sharpie fine point pen and sharpie markers. There was also a Posca 0.7mm marker used for highlights.Something I learned from the experimental coloring is that sharpies perform very well over charcoal and makes for a much smoother blend of color. On their own they're very scratchy and textured.
What I used:
0.5 mm mechanical pencil
Staedtler Charcoal Pencils
General's Pastel Chalk
Pilot G-2 05
Sharpie Fine Point (Assorted Colors)
Sharpie Ultra Fine Point (Assorted Colors)
Posca 0.7 mm Paint Pen
Strathmore "Sketch" Pad
Every time I did something I didn't like (on accident) I was tempted to scrap it. But I forced myself to ignore that urge and keep coloring. The hands got a bit messed up in the end but it's worth putting up as a reference for comparison later down the line.
