WARNING: Gore will be in this chapter!
————
“Don’t worry, love. Once you succeeded, you’ll be in paradise soon enough! Maybe even with those who love you. You and I will create it.” Oof
“How do you know?”
“We make strange moves, dearie. Now go... Unless you truly want to suffer.”
“Alright.”
———
Darla was in a bakery, eating a slice of ube cake with not a sense of joy in it. Usually, she would enjoy it since she’s very fond of sweets, but now. She couldn’t enjoy any dessert possible.
She heard footsteps getting closer to her every time from people walking by and listened to their weird chats. She looked up and saw a couple of toon cats fighting and the female toon cat pushed away the male cat, leaving the male stunned. And then she saw another couple, who were human toons. They leaned in and touched lips before they sat down again, scooping their spoons on their sundaes and raised it up to each other.
Darla felt a sense of sorrow when she saw the couples and ate more of her cake, drinking water while she did so to appease her thirst. She kept eating and eating until she felt a touch on her shoulder. She looked back and saw it was Ms. Chalice.
The chalice head showed a very somber face. Very different from the Ms. Chalice she knew. And she can tell she had boyfriend problems herself.
“Hey,” Darla said.
“Mind if I sit with you?” asked Ms. Chalice.
“I don’t mind.”
Ms. Chalice sat in a chair on her left and saw the sad look in Darla’s eyes. The most abnormal thing she has ever seen.
“Bendy?” Ms. Chalice asked.
Darla nodded as she picked up a small piece of ube cake with her fork and brought it slowly to her mouth.
“Cuphead, for me..,” Ms. Chalice said. “He’s... been acting strange... And it’s not just rejecting my help.”
“What do you mean?” Darla asked.
“He’s been leaving... a lot... And coming back very late.”
Darla remained silent in response.
“It’s worrying me,” Ms. Chalice said. “I keep getting this wretched feeling in my chest that Cuphead’s doing something evil. But... I don’t know...”
“Bendy hasn’t been in the best place either,” Darla said. “I was told that Bendy keeps going out and drinking alcohol. And like Cuphead, he’s been going out at night. At least that’s what Alice told me.”
Ms. Chalice sighed and placed a hand on Darla’s shoulder. Darla looked at her and leaned towards her, bringing herself to the chalice headed toon’s embrace.
The two girls spent their time, trying to help each other up about their boyfriends.
———
Bendy kept walking, the clicks of his footsteps were the sounds he heard. The voices of people passing by were silenced like he was deaf, but still ran into his ears, competing to be heard by him.
He walked into another alley and he sat down when he knew he was safe. He brought his hands up to his amethyst gem and the dark cloud was released.
“Yes?” she asked, sweetly.
“What do I need to do next?” Bendy asked.
“I’ll tell ya,” the cloud said. “When the moon is in the sky, nice and white.”
Bendy growled a little, frustrated.
“What?” the cloud asked. “It’s not like we‘re cuttin’ off the deal after all...”
There was a slight silence...
“You do wish for paradise. Do you?”
“I do.”
“Then wait. The sunlight is... too harsh for the liking. Unless there is a perfect, secret spot.”
“Fine.”
The eyes of the cloud now looked like lines that created two hills like a drawing in a splatter of ink. Bendy only sighed and stared at the amethyst. And all he saw was the oval that was his eye.
And the need to make his paradise was growing. He doesn’t care about anything anymore. He wants to finish this deal and be returned with what he wants. He’ll do anything to get it back.
———
Two feet that wore flats were walking in an empty field. Darla has her head down as she felt the cool air and the gentle sound of grass being crushed under her feet. She kept walking and walking until she saw a bench and someone familiar.
It had a cup for a head, a black shirt, and red shorts. It was enough Darla to know who it was.
“Cuphead!” she called and ran towards him.
The cup headed toon looked behind him and sees the female demon running to him.
“Oh,” he said as she went to sit beside him. “Darla.”
“Hey,” she said. “Are you... okay?”
“Yes.”
How Cuphead said it made poor Darla feel afraid and worried. It sounded angry, unhappy. It matched the look Bendy showed to her last time.
“Why are you here?” Cuphead asked, coldly.
“I thought I could see you,” Darla said.
“Well. You shouldn’t even be near me. Or even Bendy.”
“What?”
“I don’t want to see the face of another reminder. And break up with Bendy. He’s a monster. He’ll always be.”
“He’s not a monster!”
“He is! He killed Sophia and you forgive him for that?! How can you?”
“He didn’t mean to!”
“Of course you’ll say that. You’ll never understand since you’re nothing but a naive demoness who thinks everything will get better. But you know. People who murder will never get a perfect life.”
Darla’s eyes filled with tears. “That’s not true!”
“It is.”
Cuphead stood up and dark shadows swirled and covered his body, giving him a different appearance. He wore a black cape that seemed like it was outlined in red and had a weird symbol that looked like a pair of eyes with potion bottles spewing out smoke and daggers crosses together.
He wore a dark red shirt and bands that faded from red to a darker shade with his gloves having black frills. He wore a skirt that went from his shirt’s color to red to yellow and his shoes were black fading into red.
“Cuphead,” Darla managed a whisper.
“You may say he’s not a monster,” Cuphead said, “but he is no longer the boyfriend you loved! I’m here trying to save your life from that criminal. So, like I said, do us all a favor and break up with him. He’s not the Bendy you remember anymore.”
“And what does Ms. Chalice think?”
Cuphead paused at that question.
“What would your girlfriend think if she saw you like this?” Darla asked with tears in her eyes. “You’re not the same either, you know?! And why are you like this?! What did you do?!”
Cuphead looked back at her. “That’s none of your business. And if you dare talk to her about it. I will kill you.”
Then Cuphead jumped up and vanished within the other side of the row of trees.
Darla couldn’t help but shake. He was serious, was he? He sounded serious. And it made her fearful of Cuphead more than ever now.
———
Soon, the sky was now dark with the world dimly lit by the crescent moon, but shined madly with electric light from cars and buildings.
Bendy stood on a rooftop, watching the city with his lifeless-like eyes that was still pie-cut. He looked around for any good prey he could find.
His necklace vibrated and he looked down to see a group of toon demons chatting and laughing about something.
They’re the ones that bullied you, the cloud in his head said.
Bendy growled and sprouted his wings, flying down to another building and disappeared within the shadows.
“How would you know?” Bendy asked.
Our kind watch everything and know everything. We even remember a good face! Like your sister’s. It’s a shame I don’t get to see that adorable look. She was such a pain in the ass on our mission.
Bendy eyed the group of bullies carefully, his amethyst necklace darkening more.
Go on, love. Face them!
And Bendy jumped and flew into the air.
Soon, time passed and there was a loud scream, causing those who heard it to dash away and run. Children held on to their parents as they ran. The group of demons ran away from the alley, fear drawn on their faces. And on the rooftop was the Grim Reaper.
The Grim Reaper held a heart in his hand and he gently brought it to his mouth, drinking the ink inside before squishing it and placing it down on the side.
He wiped away every last bit of ink on his mouth that is invisible from the shadows. Before going up and jumping to the other side. There, he walked to the edge and saw a group of toons together.
He observed the toon group.
There was Mickey, Oswald, Julius, Bugs Bunny, Bimbo...
It doesn’t matter. He stared at the group, taking out his gun.
“Hey,” said a cat that had been drawn with much larger eyes. Felix. “Have you guys wondered how Bendy and the cup brothers are doing?”
“Me too,” said a dog that had the same big eyes and wore a red shirt and yellow shoes. Bimbo. “I can’t help but wonder what they’re doing. Are they okay?”
“I hope so,” Julius replied. “They’ve been hardly hanging out with us since their sister died.”
The Grim Reaper pointed his gun at Julius at the mention of the incident at the docks.
“No surprise,” Oswald said. “Cuphead hates Bendy now for what he did.”
“Yeah,” Mickey replied. “Poor guys. I wish our words were enough to comfort them.”
“Same here, doc.”
Bugs Bunny.
“Yeah.”
Foxy.
All the other toons like Pooch the Pup and Cubby Bear agreed.
“Come on,” Mickey said. “Let’s get some food to eat before we head back to our homes.”
The toon group agreed and started walking to look for a restaurant.
The Grim Reaper growled and...
BAM!
Julius released a cry and collapsed.
The toon group then rushed towards the shot toon. There was the sound of whimpers and soft sobs coming from the toon cat.
To the Grim Reaper, it sounded like music. At first, he felt that it was a sin. But it really was a sin to show the world he’s just a weakling. So might as well.
The toon murderer turned around and jumped into the air as the sound of police sirens rang the sky.
———
Alexis and Evelyn came rushing in when they heard the screams, only to be returned with again, a corpse in an ally and a flattened heart in black ink.
Evelyn shivered. “This is scary. And I’m used to seeing dragons rip their prey apart!”
“I know,” Alexis replied. “But we still haven’t found a trace of the Grim Reaper.”
“Think we should call Sophia’s ‘pet gods’ and the dragons?”
“No. They got other matters to do. We should keep searching for more valid clues.”
The two girls jumped to look around for any clues of the Grim Reaper. They were so busy looking around, they didn’t notice a scythe pointing behind them, getting closer and closer.
SPLAT!
The girls looked back and saw a figure that was the size of Mickey Mouse and holding a huge scythe that was pointed towards them and held in one hand.
“It’s him!” Alexis cried out and she dashed towards the mysterious toon with Evelyn. Only for the Grim Reaper to jump out of the way and the girls suddenly felt sharp pain on their right arms. They looked down and saw shurikens covered in blood and on their arm, a large laceration.
The girls glared at the Grim Reaper, who gave them a glance that they couldn’t tell from the shadows of his hood before two bat-like wings sprouted from his back and he flew off.
———
Cuphead was on the roof, his cape flowing in the wind, three potion bottles that held black liquid were held by his belt. He stared at the city below while he ate an ice cream cheesecake sandwich.
He was finished with three fourths of the sandwich when he saw a group of men pull out a man from his truck and soon, behind the truck, a knife was seen behind the window and it plunged downwards, causing a scream from the man. The gang got inside, stealing the truck. Cuphead finished up his sandwich and jumped to the other side from the building he stood and ran, following the truck.
He kept running and jumping from building to building until he found the truck parked into an alley that was big enough for a safe drive for the said vehicle. He watched as the criminals got out and opened the door within the small building. Cuphead smiled and went into the windows of the building.
He climbed down the building and found the men climbing upstairs. With a smirk, he picked up a bottle from his belt and spilt the black liquid into his head.
“Yo! Finally! Some good money! That crew member was useless!”
“Right? We’re rich!”
“We’re not rich yet. We need to steal more money!”
BANG!
“UGH!”
THUD!
A man collapsed in front of the entrance.
“What the?! Hey! Dude! Are you okay?”
SLASH!
“ACK!”
THUD!
There was the sound of whimpering and footsteps walking the stairs. And soon, under the moonlight, a hooded figure that was about his size walked in, holding a scythe in one hand.
“You,” Cuphead growled.
The Grim Reaper!
“What are you doing here?” Cuphead asked. “These men are mine.”
The Grim Reaper didn’t reply. It only remained silent.
“Whatever! You’re my biggest target yet! So, come here!”
Cuphead shot at the Grim Reaper, only for him to disappear into a puddle of ink and sprout near the window Cuphead came out of. Cuphead went after him, jumping out of the window and shooting endlessly at the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper flew and blocked every shot and raised his scythe up to slice the cup headed toon in half, but he missed because Cuphead dodged.
Cuphead punched the Grim Reaper’s face and the serial killer collapsed, only for it to get up and swing his scythe, which Cuphead quickly dodged, but also get a scratch at his arm.
A quiet growl emitted from the Grim Reaper.
“Ha! Poor you,” Cuphead mocked. “Can’t even get a good aim.”
The Grim Reaper growled and swung his scythe again, making Cuphead jump to a bigger block that the two sat by.
Cuphead aimed his finger and powered up his shot.
“Goodbye,” he said.
And he shot at the serial killer with a black fireball. It exploded on the Grim Reaper, causing him to smile.
But when the flames recided, he saw a puddle of ink.
No suit.
Cuphead growled and looked up, seeing the Grim Reaper on the other side as the sound of police sirens rang in the air.
Cuphead and the Grim Reaper turned around and ran deep into the shadows, vanishing.
——-
Cuphead then transformed back into his old appearance when he arrived back at Inkwell Isles. He saw Ms. Chalice and Mugman standing outside Elder Kettle’s house. When they saw them, they gasped and ran towards him.
“Sweetheart!” Ms. Chalice exclaimed with relief before she hugged Cuphead tightly. Along with Mugman.
“Sheesh, you had us worried!” Mugman said.
“Thanks,” Cuphead replied, quietly.
Oh? the voice in his head said. You have a girlfriend? And a brother? This is interesting....
Yeah, whatever.., Cuphead thought. None of your business.
And Cuphead only heard a soft chuckle from the voice.
“Come on, hon..,” Ms. Chalice said. “I made dinner for you.”
“Thanks, sweetie..,” Cuphead replied.
As Cuphead walked away, all he could feel was anger and rage. The feeling of vengeance towards that serial killer. A feeling that he felt similarly towards Bendy. No matter. He’ll kill him. He’ll kill that Grim Reaper.
————
Bendy came home with more ink in his hands. He hides it with his sweater and once again washed his hands and gloves, cleaning the sink afterwards.
Well, then, the voice of the cloud said. That was fun.
Ya think? Bendy replied silently.
This is a little off topic. Now. Sleep. Before I keep ya awake to continue until the sun is up.
Okay, fine. Whatever.
We’ll continue our deal tomorrow night, love.
Bendy went to his room and closed the door, locking it. He placed the gloves in a drawer before he went to and lied down on the bed. But when he saw his amethyst, it was half dark. Probably from the feeling of rage and retribution disappearing from him. But it still felt like he wants to keep going. Let the people know how he felt when they talked to him and spread rumors like they were gossip girls. Make sure they know what wounds was felt during his lifetime, no matter how big. He just doesn’t care anymore.
He wants his paradise.
And will do anything to get it.
Sheesh, you really want that paradise, do ya? asked the cloud.
Ya think? Bendy thought.
Don’t worry, sweetheart. Once you kill enough of your foes, me, as a destructor, will give you the power to change this reality. And maybe... bring your precious sister back.
Bendy tensed a little at that.
Sophia?
Yes. But fail to meet this...
I know.
Good.
Bendy then slipped into deep slumber, his hunger to kill arisen more as the night went on.
