Freedom is a nice sentiment but you want to be careful Mubarak isn't just replaced by a Sharia-bound Islamic state, even if it is a so-called democracy.

This is up to us to decide.

Of course, you can either decide that women are permanently second-class human beings who can't drive, vote, go to school, divorce, or show their face uncovered, or you can decide to turn away from radical Islamism and approach some semblance of a freedom loving democracy.

my friend, despite my political and religious views that are against to all what you have described, but i don't like an outsider to say what should we do, specially if he is someone who make his opinion from so far away based on what he is told in the media... please stop judging people, we have had enough of this really.... if you would like to support my people in their battle i would be more than grateful to you, if you want to ask me a direct question regarding my religion or culture again i will be more than happy to reply, but please don't tell me what should be done because you really don't know the whole truth.

Putting what little you know of me aside, and how quickly you presume my perspective to be narrower than yours, let's get the facts clear before you dismiss me for not being "on the inside enough".
Sharia courts in Nigeria punish theft with removal of the hands and stoning for adultery. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Somalia can impose the death penalty for homosexual behavior, thanks to Sharia law. Let's not forget that "blasphemers against the prophet" are met with varying types of ridiculous punishments, including death all across countries that adopted Sharia law.
Like I said, I sincerely hope that the future holds a more free, more stable, and more peaceful Egypt. In my opinion this can only be done with a democratic system free of Sharia laws, and, ideally a pro-Western foreign policy.
You don't have to agree with me on opinion, certainly, but you can't ignore the fact that Sharia imposed on a country by radical Islam has created very little aside from poverty, social inequality, religious persecution, dictatorships, and global instability for the countries under it.

your perspective of my own country, people and religion is definitely narrower than mine!! your perspective is even so so narrow my friend, trust me..... all what you think about is the sharia and all the extreme examples that are given to you in your talk shows and media, not much caring with whats really going on here right now.... but if you know the least about my country and culture you would have known that things are different here.

I know enough to know the difference between a system of laws that thinks it noble to cut off a woman's clitoris and a system of laws that allows for free expression of speech and religion, and that the former is barbaric and the latter is preferable. Again, again, and again, I'm not passing judgment on you, your culture, your religion, or your country, I'm simply stating my reasonable, logical, and factually based opinion on what kind future Egypt should inherit, for the sake of all decent people.

Thank you very much, things were really heated in first week, and the government was really trying eagerly to isolate us... anyhow now its much more calm, but the battle is not finished yet

great pic .. the way Egyptians have united themselves for a common cause is something that should be emulated by the people of other countries who have been repressed because of a failed government.
