Description - THIS AREA NOW BELONGS TO ME.

This one goes to bib, who found a place similar to this ( not the exact same hybrid) bib993.deviantart.com/art/Unde… only a week or so before I got here, and he did such a splendid render of it I didn't see any meaning to post any of mine.

Instead I did these, from the same hybrid:

However, to promote our upcoming joint exhibition at Värmlands museum:
EXHIBITION - BEYOND THE INFINITE*

Exhibition @ Värmlands museum, Sweden.
19th of may - 2nd October 2012

I am happy to announce my first real life 3D fractal art exhibition.
So all of you who happen to pass the city of Karlstad during this period has the chance to see mine and Jérémie:s works as big prints.
The museum has also arranged with a number of natural fractals, a large Sierpinski pyramid, videos and more.
My works at the exhibition:

Basket of bread  - 81x81 cm

Mathematicians framed by their own formulas - 135 x 108 cm

Quantum mechanic clockwork of the cosmic calendar - 108 x 108 cm

Perfectly framed Lacemaker - 80 x 60 cm

Mollusk of Love - 60 x 80 cm

...where you will be able to see (among many other beautiful artworks) bib:s version of it …
I got the idea for this version of 'the tip' a few weeks ago, and because it was quite different from bib:s, I felt it was worth a submission. (The place still belongs to bib! GTF out of here!!! )

Mandelbulb 3D, Photoshop to do the semi transparent surface. + Birds for Kali

< END OF GIBBERISH >

Have a nice weekend!

Oooops, just found out I got a DD for this piece.
Thank you for this feature n8iveattitude and thank you flouvl for suggesting it. I am honored!

I'd like to take the opportunity to point you to a piece I submitted today which means a lot to me:

Check out my 3D printed Sculptures and Jewelry at Shapeways!

Thank you Jérémie... Feels like this one is half yours...
I hope it gained some traffic to your 'object'
I really hoped to get one for the Hiroshima image, it has so much more to say, and the same day I upload it I found out I got the DD for this one...

bib993 In reply to MANDELWERK [2012-05-01 07:06:31 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Johan! No it did not drive many views to my image. Maybe if you had put the :thumb thing instead? Nevermind When you do top hits like like (be it DD, or featured on DA homepage as most viewed), people look at an image for 2 to 3 seconds, 5 to 10% click on Favourite, 2 to 5% leave a comment, and I guess less than 1% read the description
Lots of coincidences these days! On Saturday I published an image that went on DA most viewed ([link] ), than on Sunday I got the DD for [link] and you got the DD on Monday

MANDELWERK In reply to bib993 [2012-05-01 11:50:44 +0000 UTC]

You are right about these percentages, I have also been counting
I didn't get too many on my thumb images either...
Yes, I wonder if our DD:s were a coincidence, or n8ive wanting to promote our exhibition...
And I know, if you get up there you get a lot of views, I have had a couple...

So how is this mandelbulb working? I have tried abit, but no idea how to create these kinds of shapes. Only opneded some pre-made, and changed a digit or two ._.

It takes a lot of training, but you better start with looking around fractalforums.com lots to learn there!

i never thought that as "simple" and"random" working software could "impact" as impressive

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MANDELWERK In reply to veeseegoth [2012-05-01 18:13:28 +0000 UTC]

It is as random as real life...
Don't blame the software, it only follows the paths of fractal mathematics...

Haha, I like your description for it too---those arms just stretch out so aggressively like it just landed there, or popped out of the ground, and is totally staking its claim.

Also, forgot to say before, but I really love the curtain-like formations in the background.... it's like the whole sky is some kind of mind-blowingly gigantic cave!

The whole thing just has a very mystical look to it.

MANDELWERK In reply to Contraltissimo [2012-05-01 13:17:43 +0000 UTC]

Exactly the greedy arms I see...
I like the background too, it is very different from the "object", and still part of the same fractal.
Glad you like!
