Hey all!

This portrait is for a class assignment. We had to draw a celebrity in the style of an artist we look up to and a different artist that was assigned. This one, of course, is in a similar style to an artist I look up to:

It emulates, though not entirely, the look of some sketches he posted. My Illustration professor and I agreed that the way the linework was completed was dabbling in a direction I've already been playing with, and seemed like a good step in the right direction. You can see them here:

I've actually been doing a lot of style studies and master copies lately. I found that all of the qualities I appreciate in illustrations are the ones I avoid. So I've been fixing that and attacking them head on. The way I work is changing a lot, and it's been keeping me pretty happy. I might post up some of those studies later, but because of the nature of copying work directly, I need to grab permission from each of the artists first. Nothing wrong with that.

Also! The second portrait of Hulk Hogan will get put up within the next week, so keep an eye out for it. c:
