Titans Tribute to the LEGENDARY George Perez and to all his fans, who like me, miss his presence in the comic book world. My lifelong dream was to meet and work with George one day, but that day never came and it's left me with one of my biggest regrets. I didn't believe in my artistic talents enough to take a chance on me 30 some odd years ago, which led me to a much different career path. Yet George's art continued to inspire me. So much so, that in my graduating class year book in 1988 (do the math) I listed George Perez as the person who I most wanted to be like. Much to my classmates confusion who teased me that I listed my "uncle george" as my inspiration. They still may not know whom George Perez is, but I knew then what the world knows today, he was a legend in the making who left a Wonderous Titanic sized impact on our world. The faces on this art piece were individual files I had created in the likeness of George's original run of the NEW TEEN TITANS which I used to produce wearable masks so I could send them to George. I had such a hoot wearing some of the other masks, that I thought he would've loved to see himself as his creations. Unfortunately, my timing with George continued to be totally off and I completed the final mask, which was Terra ( along with Jericho and Deathstroke not displayed on this piece) on the very day that he passed. I cherish the masks I made for George and I wanted to share them with his fans in way that I believe is befitting of a legend. Thanks for listening.
