This tutorial is getting more attention lately, so I've updated it. and reopened comments. I will close commenting agian if people get all holier than thou again.Apparently I cant change the gallery because they'll never load. you'll have to download the doc until I can.
I'll add more FAQ as they come along as well enjoy.

I get SO many notes about more questions. I'll add them!
Q: How do I set up paypal?
A: It's different for different countries! I'm Canadian and from what I hear the American paypal is very different. other countries .. who knows. you will need to follow the instructions that paypal gives you, and ask them if you have questions.
Q: Can you go through my gallery and tell me if its worth opening commissions/I'm good enough/ how much to charge?
A: No, I can't. Sorry but pricing is something you have to manage on your own, and it's up to you to open commissions for your OWN reasons, not because i said you're cool
Q: What option should people use when sending money via paypal?
A: I'm not sure which ones have fees or not, but i generally choose "other" or gift"

LoL, aw, then they ripped us offf O___O they were like "50 bucks per 6 items" (uh...i cant actually remember the exact price, but it was pretty expensive -__-; ) and we only had....uh...3 items...but they were still like "nope, that's the minimum amount" O___O;;

This is great! I typed "commissions" in the search, and what do you know! I got what I was looking for on the first page of results! YAY! lol, thanks alot for this... I've been thinking of starting to set up commissions and didn't know where to start! (of course, the first thing i actually need to do is put submit my art into my gallery first, considering I only have a couple of photographs in there right now but yeah... lol... been kind of busy)
Anyways, I loved your advice! I couldn't stop laughing when I got to the columbia House thing! (my dad ordered 10 "free" cd's a couple of years ago and... well you can guess what happened... lol)

Thanks for posting that, I must say. It's a lot of good advice for people who are just starting out! And I can't believe someone would give a 'high res jpeg' rather than an original. That's just a ripoff. I have a hard time parting with originals after doing a commission, yes, but that doesn't mean I won'tXD!

Yes i sometimes have a hard time parting too, but i make sure i have a really high quality high res scan for myself
I saw someone once who only gave high res Jpegs of thier traditional art , and changed and aditiona 50$ to get the original! I literally fell out of my chair when i read that!

Did they mention that before they did the commission? Even if so, that really is bull.
And yes, you can always keep a print for yourself, or even just have it on a file!

This is really great! I've been considering opening myself up for commissions, but I didn't know how to go about it. This really helped; now I just need to make time (lots of school work).
Actually, I was wondering if you could browse through my gallery and give me an idea of what I need to improve on or what you think I should really try to push/concentrate on if I ever did try to sell my artwork. *nervous laugh*

Just as a quick over view I think you should maybe work on structuring your art more. and anatmy, but i think the stucture is more crutial
