Differences between people cause many things.
Strife, ignorance, stereotypes are all born from our perception of differences. Opinions and needs that vary cause problems and arguments, perhaps wars.
BUT...
Differences within our hearts and minds and bodies gave us ways into new ideas. It gives us goals, purpose for our existence. They give us reasons to want better for ourselves or to feel pride in what we do. We are always different, always unequal in our intelligence or strength or wealth. But it is through this that we make our mark upon this earth for all to remember.
We are different. We are not distant.

This comic made me realize something:
I view Mabel to be a lot like Stanford; they both like playing card games, coming up with excuses to pick on Dipper, and know their way around lock-picking. But it occurred to me that Dipper and Stanford's twin brother (I'm not calling him Stanley because that's TECHNICALLY not his official name) could be similar in the way that Stanford is similar to Mabel: they were possibly both picked on, maybe even bullied by other kids because there was something about them that made them different. For Dipper, that was his birthmark. For Stanford's twin, his extra finger.
just getting my thoughts out there and wondering if anybody realized the same thing. By the way, great job markmak! this is one of my favorites yet!

I recently was wondering when and how Stanley came up the the idea and means to make his journals and your explanation is my favorite yet! I love the idea that Stanford gave him the journal to tell him it's ok to be different. Great job as always!
