Description
Another sketch, this time of a Labrador duck (Camptorhynchus labradorius), located in North America, from the Canadian Maritimes to Chesapeake Bay. Last recorded in 1878, reasons for its demise cannot be fully explained. More than likely, it can be attributed to hunting for sport, the feather trade, and decline in shellfish (its main staple).
Sketched and outlined in four minutes with a Staedtler Norica HB #2 pencil and colored, blended and shaded for 16 minutes with six Prismacolor pencils.
