The pioneers of Norat's Dell are proficient in the art of war. Among those who settled the Verrho Marches, they were the first outcasts and adventurous spirits seeking to carve out their own realms far from the life-giving light of the Umbilical. Conflict was fostered by their high ambitions, rivalries among themselves and together against other settlers. For better or worse, Norat's Dell hosts many singular visionaries and idealist founders of self-proclaimed utopias, and where their worlds collide, wars are quick to follow.
For the longest time, the rest of the Verrho Marches believed, the fervent fire of the Dell would burn itself out eventually, and the great ambitious colonies there would end in self-destruction. But from ashes of those wars, the fire spectacles, and cataclysmic battles, victors arose, now unified.

Since the fires of the last war died, the victorious powers that be in Norat's Dell keep the peace through the force of the red hosts. These armies are sworn protectors of peace among those realms and recruit their number from all who settle within the ancient crater. Their existence is a warning, not only to all dissidents from within but also to all entertaining the notion of invasion.
