Once there lived a princes named Emily. Princess Emily loved all animals, but had a special place in her heart or reptiles. When her friends would be afraid, Princess Emily would help the poor scaled creature on its way. Emily especially loved the ones that needed a little extra TLC.

One day, while Princess Emily was reading a book outside, a lizard came up to her.

“Oh, hello,” Emily said.

She didn’t expect the lizard to say hello back, but he did and Emily was startled. She had often wished to speak to animals, but she knew those things only happened in fairytales and made-up stories.

The lizard explained that he used to be a human and his name was Ed. He had been turned into a lizard by an evil witch that was angry Ed did not want to go on a date with her. Now Ed needed a kiss from a princess to be humans again, but not just any princess. The princess had to be Ed’s true love for the magic spell to be broken.

But Emily didn’t love Ed…not yet.

It took a while with Ed bringing Emily a flower or two and listening to her joys and sorrows. Emily would listen to Ed as well. Eventually they did fall in love and Ed earned a true-love’s kiss from Princess Emily.

Ed turned back into a human and asked Princess Emily on a real date. He asked her to marry him and together they rescued scaly creatures.
