Description My newest submission to the ever-popular Plushie Madness subgallery! I'll probably edit the Artist's Comments later and add more lulz...

Closeup: [link]

Data "stands" approximately 15" tall. Spot stands approximately 3 inches tall.

Materials used for Data: Red Heart SuperSaver in off-white and black; Caron Simply Soft in sunshine, chocolate, and black; Tulip fabric paint in iridescent gold and silver; gold 3/4" buttons, lots of hair spray

Materials used for Spot: Caron Simply Soft in mango; two black 3/8" buttons; Tulip fabric paint in shiny pink, black ribbon, gold bell

I give full permission for and to post this in their club gallery if they so choose.

Data (c) to Roddenberry and Paramount.

Edit: The following link explains why there is a tiny orange cat with him. If you ask me one more time I will end you. [link]

Again, amazing work. I'm still impressed at how well you can do the different hair styles. And Spot is SO cute! I've never seen a crochet animal look so put together and compleate. And Data is the same way. This is more then just a homemade doll. You could really make a buisness for yourself if you wanted to.
I would suggest getting a better camera to showcase your talents though. The higher res, the better people can see what fine work you've done.

(I just bought a crummy 5.1 megapixel digital camera thinking the same thing. I don't know if it's an improvement over what I was using--my cell phone's VGA camera. As for business...I have been open for plushie commissions for some time but in this economy, no one seems to have the money for luxuries!)

I remember back when 5.1 megapixels was a really big deal.
Yeah, that should be way better then your cell phone.

(The hair is always the hardest part of making the amigurumi; it involves a special technique, hours of time, and some hair spray. )

OMG Must...have.... (I don't suppose you sell either the actual plushie or the pattern?) Is that crochet or knitting? It's a bit hard to see, but I suspect it's crochet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterPlanner In reply to JLMacDonald [2009-12-23 03:02:57 +0000 UTC]

I am currently open for commissions for the plushies themselves. My Official Commission Journal is on my homepage.

It is indeed crochet.

JLMacDonald In reply to MasterPlanner [2009-12-23 03:04:10 +0000 UTC]

No problem! I've made a few patterns myself, it's quite time consuming but well worth it. I may get you to do a crochet of my OC...once Christmas is over. My poor wallet.

JLMacDonald In reply to MasterPlanner [2009-12-23 03:12:12 +0000 UTC]

I suppose I can ask now, but what would the shipping cost to send it to Canada and approximately how big would it be?

Incidentally I get paid on Christmas day, so I'll note you then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterPlanner In reply to JLMacDonald [2009-12-23 03:14:17 +0000 UTC]

Hmm...well, last time I shipped a plushie off to Canada, it was about twenty dollars.

As for the size...plushies are generally 15" tall, as it says in the Artist's Summary.

That the response of girls to amigurumi is illogical? But when you think of all the Star Trek Rule 34 that would make the Great Bird of the Galaxy spin in his grave, that's enough reason for me to hope that Brent Spiner never, ever, finds this website. Ever.
