i have to suspect that the Sister has a pre council of micea copy of the the text as she seems to be far more aroused and inspired in what she reads there than one would expect from ingesting a contemporary copy. Perhaps she keeps a more stimulating text covertly inside a misleading cover. Whatever words lie within, the Sister of Sinntology shows all the cards of an evangelist who can make the spirit move in the most magnificent ways.

I don't know where to start with all the reasons that I love this image. Maybe it was being raised Catholic that makes it so easy to be (ahem) titillated by such a scene. Maybe I just need help. Either way, I LOVE it!!

In addition to being ingloriously irreverent, this piece looks gorgeous! The color is perfect, the lighting is perfect, the model is beautiful... it has all of the right touches that make you want to keep looking. It reminds me of classical Renaissance paintings and like many of those works, it is obviously heavily influenced by the teachings of the Catholic church! Masterfully executed! I say if you're going to hell, you might as well look good doing it!

love the concept, but a blatant image of a woman masturbating (or masturbation at all) doesn't belong on dA. There are plenty of other websites i'd love to see this on, but not here. I respect the photographer, don't get me wrong, but this should be removed.

A girl putting her hand over herself isn't masturbation at all, but in this piece her fingers are inside herself. The concept is masturbating to the bible which is a sin/blasphemous. And thats a creative concept, dont get me wrong, I dont dislike it for being explicit, but the rules of dA say that there can be no depiction of masturbation posted in an artist's gallery.

what's to believe? Just look at the photo. Pretty clear even at a glance that the "inside herself" comment was a mistake brought on by poor observation upon first glance.
Unless a severe lack of knowledge of the female anatomy in general brought on such a comment, in which case there are many good resource materials available on how it all works.
This image being here is why I appreciate the DA community so much, the fact that such a creative and skilled piece can be displayed as the art that it is without being censored, and generally without assumptions or ignorant comments.
I laugh when realising that some above posts completely miss the point of the image....

Your quite insulting and extremely snarky, her hand does look like its inside her, and its cleverly placed that way so it does look like it whether it is or isnt.
Torn wasnt being rude to you merely gave an opinion, there was no need for your response. Not everyone is going to feel the same way about this image, you aren't the photographer here let him defend his own work.

Ah yes, but that's where the line is drawn. You quite correctly claimed that it "looks like" which is quite different from factually claiming that "it is".
Expressing an opinion about another's comment is as much a right as commenting on the original image itself. That is why the reply function is open to other posters. If you were personally offended by my tongue in cheek responses to that comment, then I apologise to you for that.
But you stating I should allow MT to defend his images without getting involved would be like me saying that my reply was not a reply to one of your posts, so you should let Torn defend him/her self and not voice your opinion about my post as you did. Can you not see the hypocrisy in that?
Torn's comment appeared pretty condescending to Niansa, which is what got me going in the first place. What bugs me is claiming factually something about an image that a person cannot factually know. Opinions are great, and that is the reason I came back to this image for another look at what comments had been posted.
I work with the photographer quite a bit and was actually at the studio on the day of this shoot, and he will not defend his work to anyone. He doesn't need to. I viewed this image before it went on DA, and got to chat about the image with him as it was being posted.
And the "good to see you took the time to put some thought into your responses" comment was actually a compliment to Torn, as they've clearly spent some time thinking before starting to type, unlike thoughtless comments that say "this should be taken down", which don't benefit anyone.
Anyway, I appreciate you expressing what you think, as it gives me a different perspective on my post. Even if I don't agree with you, you have given me something to think about, and I do appreciate that.
