Description
First of all let me say that the terrain is not (I repeat NOT) anywhere close to being done here. This pic is all about the rays, nothing more. I accidantally moved my camera after this render so i may never get this shot back again, but I figured why not upload this one to get people's responseJust messing around with some settings and voila. Too bad this was accidental :smirk: And for those of you wondering, the terrain is made completely of gears interlocked and at different heights. Youll see it again with a different sky as this one did not show enough detail for my liking and I wasnt nearly done with the textures so dont comment on the land! hahaha

the lightening of the sun and the clouds are looking very beautyful. such powerful, bright colors i never saw it on a 3d work. wow

MMmmm, Yummy, me likes it, you have some rather odd horizontal lines across at the top and some more under the straight line on the left - dunno how you managed that one - post processing ?
The colours are a little over powering though - harsh black and yellow - perhaps have more blue then about quart from the bottom through yellow into orange and change the sun colour itself to yellow - 'might' mellow it a little.
As for the land
Good efforts, I do like you experimentation, keep on doing it, one day, you will own a biggie.

rays are looking good, sth about the sun bothers me...i can tell that the sun is behind that really dark cloud, but it looks as if behind the sun there is another massive cloud which makes it look odd
bried - where the clouds end is where the sky and the surface map meet
overall excellent work and can't wait to see the final

Okay .. well .. the land ... oh .. j/k ... The sunrays are awesome in this .. I love how the sunrays just seem to pierce through the clouds .. Can't wait to see the land when its done

Pretty wild. The clouds kind of end abruptly there - I don't know if that's realistic or not, but it looks a bit odd.

Yup yup, Stotty's ray tutorial rocks people. You should really give it a try! Also major props go out to Sixwings [link] for his help and hours of trying to get it through my thick skull how to do these things Thanks to you both and to all you guys who have inspired me. I know its not really kosher to comment on your own stuff, but I figure since the "edit deviation" thing dont work what the hey? hahaha
