After 5 attempts to render I finally got my slow old computer to choke this thing out.23 layers of texture
8 hours 23 minutes to render
The structure(s) were made in PSP6 as a RAW file and then imported into Terragen. I thought it looked kind of like a lighthouse
Comments more than welcome (critiques also encouraged).

I am impressed you can come up with these artifical structures and bring them to life like this, I appreciate the quality of a raw file has its limitations, but a great execution of one here - the whole scene is a little over bright considering how much cloud cover you do have and the clouds appear a little too thick to be able to glow as orange as that.

Wow.. this is turning out great.. love the look of that lighthouse looking structure. I think you could inprove the textures visability by mixing light and dark textures together... mess with the colors more and get them to contrast each other, then they'll show up in that heavily shadowed landscape.
You probably have, but you might try bringing the sun down a little bit behind the structure to get a tad more rays.. also try turning down the "glow power" down (under the "glow amount" slider)

This is an awesome render matrix .. Very good job on putting in the RAW file and putting the sun right above it. Good job on the water as well .. I love how the clouds cover 95% of the sky and then opens up for the sun ..

From what i can see the texture looks pretty good. I like the color of the sky and the water but i dont like i guess what you would call the lighthouse, but i do like the shadow it gives. Overall, not bad render
