C is for Crystal!!

Hey everybody, Matt Royale again with another fantastic four character from my alphabetical universal redesign series.
I love crystal, and I really feel like she deserves more love. I remember seeing Kris Anka throwing her into the avengers in one of his fan line-ups years ago and feeling like that makes wayyyy too much sense,

Crystal is an elemental, and one of the primary members of the Inhumans royal family as their somewhat reluctant princess.She’s been romantically linked with several big hitter male characters, most notably Johnny Storm and these days Ronan the accuser. (Which, honestly I’d like to see her get away from, early marvel focused a lot on which characters their females were linked too rather than what the character herself was doing)

With crystal (And the rest of the inhumans) I wanted to stray somewhat. The band in her hair was always a somewhat arbitrary design choice so I chose to have it be a kind of odd genetic tatto/dye the inhumans are capable of etching into themselves on any part of the body, including hair follicles. I also tried to make her and the other inhumans a little less “New yorkers in the mountains somewhere in spandex” and a little more “actual hidden Himalayan super-tribe” so she’s a bit less euro-centric for the purposes of the re-design.

The suit she’s wearing is actually a modification of what I’ll be going for with the Fantastic Four’s suits, Crystal was a killer member of the F4 Family for a few great stories and I wanted to see what the FF uniform merged with crystals usual attire would look like in my redesigned universe.. Actually, a lot of crystals design stems from what I’m doing with both the Inhumans and the FF, so this design may become a bit more clear cut in hindsight, but hey, C don’t come after Z right?

Tomorrow I’ll be givin’ ya’ll a great big look at the D.
