Life has its ups and downs. Tonight, I felt much pressure on the soul as I allow anxiety and fear to fill my heart.

I sat down to read Oswald Chamber's "My Utmost for His Highest" (a book my friend gave me for my birthday), I turn to the devotional of the day. "We will suffer a sharp painful disillusionment before we fully surrender." Oh how painful is the death of pride.

Then, I listened to Jars of Clay's "Fade to Grey."

"..But in my state of blind confusion
No god can pull me out
I see Your love is willing
To turn me inside out

And then I see You there
The lonely tears I cry
I wish they'd release me

It's in despair that I find faith
Summons the night to bow down to day
When ignorance is bliss
Won't You save me from myself"

I choose to embrace the despair and anguish because I know the light will come in the morning. This is the promise of God to the fallen world.
