That's the problem. People overhype stuff so much and people keep saying "This better be the evos" or "I wish they look like this" to whatever fakes people make to bet he evos, when they're hardly any change to the second stage, they're just bigger with more stuff most of time.
Then, when GF makes some cool/badass starters, all people do is bitch about how it should've been what they wanted and they call it terrible and shitty, which is pretty much what everyone is doing... like THEY make the decisions. XD
Lesson: If you overhype stuff and cool things are made for it, people will bitch like narcissists. So...DON'T OVERHYPE STUFF, KIDS!

Exactly! All this fanart is making me somewhat like Delphox, then I look back at the real game and start to hate it again. It had so much potential as Braixen and they messed it up. For one, the design is so simple and bland, the colors just look odd. Another thing is, I wish they had left the stick, maybe turned it into a staff or something.

The fanart makes delphox look pretty and very cool and stuff but it looks like a furry cone in the real games. I'm not choosing fennekin in the first place but I still wished that they had made a better evo for Braixen :/

Well, it hasn't been officially confirmed that Delphox is real (I'm hoping it's not), and the fact that people get their games early seems a bit odd to me. I mean they would do that for testing of the game and stuff but I'm pretty sure they'd be told not to leak the images. And that's exactly what I was thinking about the furry cone! Haha!

OMG! I love how you drew Delphox! It looks even more epic! Those colors are so pretty! I wish I had a 3DS right now so I can evolve my Fennekin into this guy when the games come out, omg! X and Y has got to be the best Gen so far along with III, IV and V Gens! Delphox haters gonna hate.

I think Delphox is one of those Pokemon where "less is more." Most people seem to think it's hideous or bland, but I think it's the best Fire starter we've had since Blaziken because it doesn't have a lot of "stuff" to it. People just don't like it because it's not what was expected, which, judging by the fanart, seemed to be either a kitsune or basically Braixen with more "stuff" (witches hat, bigger broom, etc.) But I think if Fennekin wound up being the former, people would have just complained about it being "unoriginal" or "a Ninetales/Renamon clone," and if it went the latter route, they would have complained about it being "overdesigned." Either way, nobody's happy, and GF loses. I think this design is more reminiscent of something like an Albus Dumbledore or Gandalf type of sorcerer, which to me is 1000x more interesting. And as for it losing its stick, I think the point of it is that its so powerful that it doesn't need it. It's like a sorcerer approaching maturity. And anyway, I personally never liked Braixen's wand, but I'm likely in a very small minority.
That long post aside, you make Delphox look awesome, and I hope we see more fanart of it so people will warm up to it, as I'm sure they will. People always hate the starter evos every gen, but they get used to them eventually.

Dude. You, my friend, are my hero. That's exactly how I viewed Delphox when it was first revealed. I really thought its design is unique and interesting. I really like the "Merlin" look to it and that it doesn't need the stick anymore when using its powers. Sadly, only a few people see it that way. But like you said, they'll eventually start liking Delphox more when they see more art of it along with the other two. Thank you. I love you for this comment.

Hahah, I've been defending it since it got leaked yesterday. xD You'd think people would learn by now not to let fanart raise their expectations, but alas. Perhaps Pokemon fans literally cannot be pleased. Who knows?
To be fair, we can't see it that clearly, and we haven't seen it moving at all. Like we don't even know what its face looks like, and maybe some people assumed its tail was part of its "robe." That will be cleared up when we get the Sugimori art and perhaps video, however.
Oh well. Haters gonna hate. It's surprisingly fast and has great Special Attack, so I'll have fun wrecking shit with it.

I know right? I've been trying to defend Delphox as well considering the amount of fans are saying they don't like it. Unlike most fans I don't let Fakemon fanart raise my expectations on how an official pokemon's evolution will look. Most of them were too generic anyway. I just wait until the actual leaks are revealed.
A screenshot will always seem to have bad quality, but apparently that doesn't stop the fans from hating Delphox and the others. XD Hopefully Game Freak will reveal the official artwork of them so(some) people can stop hating on them so much. 
Hate on it all they want, I really like Delphox. I'll be doing the same when I get a 3DS and the Y version.

Well, I've noticed more and more people warming up to her recently, because more and more good fanart of her has cropped up. And I'm the same. I look at fanart, but I don't develop expectations. And honestly, most of the fanart looked kinda boring anyway. It was all kitsunes before Braixen was revealed (because we totally need another kitsune Pokemon) and essentially Braixen with more "stuff" after she was revealed. I think people would have complained if they went with either of those routes.
I have to say, you know what else probably helped with Delphox is that I didn't really care for Braixen, personally (or any of the mid stage evos, for that matter). I didn't like her weird little noodle arms and that "skirt" thing made her look kind of kinky. But I know I'm clearly in the minority, because I saw a ton of fanart for Braixen. Since I'm never the only one, I'm guessing a lot of the people who hate Delphox like Braixen and a lot of the people who like Delphox didn't care for Braixen.
That probably won't happen until after the game is out, unfortunately.

Yeah, it does seem that way about fans. There are some that perfer the middle evo over the final and some that prefer the final over the middle. Like how I prefer Charmeleon over Charizard because its too overrated especially now that it has two Mega forms. Those crazed Charizard fans are preventing me from liking it as much as I used to. I blame the anime. XD Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I very rarely prefer the middle evo over the final. xD Only exception I can think of is Grovyle.
I like Charizard, but I'm not obsessed with it, and I don't let those that are bother me.

Honestly, I'm really trying not to let obsessed Charizartd fans bother me so much. XD I mean, I don't see what's so "uber-awesome" about it? It clearly has the most generic design out of the Kanto starters. XD

Because it's a dragon. I haven't met an individual in my life that doesn't like dragons. I'm almost convinced they're about as mythical as the beasts themselves.

Yeah, Grovyle does have a cooler design than Sceptile I'll have to admit, but I still like both equally.
Oh no, I do like dragons. In fact, I love dragons! I've always had ever since my childhood, it's just that Charizard's design seems a bit too generic to be fangasming over. Pretty much anybody can come up with designing a bipedal dragon with a flaming tail, but I still like it. XD But yeah, nostalgia does do that to people.
