Description
Designed in early 1944, the Me 410C sought to introduce the interchangeable Kraftei power egg configuration to the Me 410 airframe. This would have enabled the aircraft to easily change between the original DB603 engines, Jumo 213s and BMW 801s. In addition to the modular engines, longer wings would have given it better altitude performance for bomber interception.

The C-0 variant was an early prototype that revised the mounting points and removed the wing radiators, as they were now paired with the engine.

The project never came to fruition as resources were diverted towards single engine interceptors such as the late Bf109s and Fw 190/Ta 152s.
