Oh, I just love this. It's beautiful. The top picture reminds me of mornings and beginnings, and we see everybody leaving to go on an adventure, and this would be a gorgeous picture by itself. But then there's the second picture beneath it. And it's got these evening colors and it's just Bilbo and Gandalf, going back the way they came, which was always my favorite part of the book (strangely enough), and because I know the story (but even if I didn't), it shows that things happened and people died and there's just this sense of loss that I get.......Β

yes, that is actual the point of these drawings. I'm so glad you saw it :') I also have this same feelings with you at the end of the book.. which I cant describe in words but its the similar feeling from once you got home from a long trip.
