Description
Apophysis 3D Hack || Full view recommendedWith death in the terrible flickering gloom of the fight
I was cruel and fierce with despair; I was naked and bound;
was stricken: and Beauty returned through the shambles of night;
In the faces of men she returned; and their triumph I found.
-Siegfried Sassoon

I love the overall design of this - fits the concept to perfection, Plenty's horn spawning a brand new universe in a panoply of celebration. But whilst the hotspots in the upper portion work those lower down are perhaps too much, though I suspect they're artifacts of the style...

Oooh, Wires and Tubes! Quite an interesting style. Haven't done one in a while.
The first thing I noticed about this piece was your placement of the flame. You did a wonderful job with that, and it kept my eyes on the finest part of the piece for a while before I went to look elsewhere. Great movement as well.
There are a couple things that don't agree with me, though. First off is the gradient. I think the colors could be a little more matched up than they are right now (possibly a green-red-orange mix without the white?). Most importantly are the hot spots. I know they are very common in the Apo 3D renders, but they just seem to take away from the overall flame.
Nice flame though, I really like it. Nice job.

Thank you for taking the time to look at it deeper.
With the colors I wanted to get the feeling of a crowning achievement, a prize, something of value, a triumph. This is why I chose gold as the main color and then used shaded gold (almost heated orange for contrast in yellows) and then of course black and white. The white I wanted in because it's a contrast color and also reads as sparkles and decor around this valuable triumph.
Green along with a red orange in my opinion would not have portrayed or read they way I wanted it too and the piece would be less effective. I spend a lot of time putting myself into my art and how the work reads is as important to me as how it looks.
I was really hesitant to do this kind of fractal, it's very popular since the release of the Apophysis 3D Hack. I spent a lot of time understanding the concept and math behind the 3D Hack, and I felt comfortable enough to give it ago, to give a common fractal a new style, my style.
Thank you again for being open an giving critique, I thoroughly enjoyed explaining more about this artwork then what meets the eye.
