UPD: It's just my personal opinion, I don't like Tothless's romantic relationship being the main story in the last movie. I'm still totally ok with that and will enjoy the movie anyway, but it's really kinda cliche and meeh

I was uncertain about the love interest cliche for a split second before I saw the way he interacted with her. Toothless has no clue how to flirt and it's adorable. I think Toothless deserves to find a girl, he's been the only one of his species in all the movies. Besides, love is such a big part of life. Having it in movies is to be expected. And I enjoy it as long as the writers do it well. Like in this movie - making Toothless totally clueless when it comes to females is funny. I like the light fury's mysterious/elegant vibe.
Some animated movies do the whole "love" thing really well. Like Rio. That love story was super cute. And I expect the same from HTTYD. I would love to see more of Toothless and his awkward flirting. And to top it off, Hiccup as his wingman. It's just a cute dynamic that I can totally get behind.

Ok like, I'm not really that much of a fan of the HTTYD movies anyway but, when I saw the poster with the white night fury for the first time, it honestly reminded me of a cheesy fanfic from some 12-year old kid who paired up toothless with their female OC. It's kinda disappointing that such professional artists couldn't come up with something more creative. Then again, we still don' know entirely what they'll do with the story. Maybe they'll surprise their audience and make something unique with it.

Well it is based off of a book trilogy, I've never read it but its safe to say shes probably from that rather than just thrown. Shes also not a Nightfury but a subspecies, so thats pretty cool to see. This is going to be the last movie and from what the cast and fans who've read the series said it's going to be very emotional. The director said its about learning to let go.

I do not really like this girlfriend idea either... But maybe there would be more behind this than just a romance between her and toothless. It could be that she is part of the reason why the dragons disappeared, because in the end the whole story leads to the vanish of dragons. But yeah, you are totally right...
