UPD: It's just my personal opinion, I don't like Tothless's romantic relationship being the main story in the last movie. I'm still totally ok with that and will enjoy the movie anyway, but it's really kinda cliche and meeh

As a long time fan of the HTTYD series, I will of course watch it. Like I said, I don't know how well they'll fit in the romance thing while still staying on track with the plot of the movie. However I can express my thoughts on the fact that it might not be the best desicion for the sake of the audience. The main audience came for dragons and cool action, not necessarily to see romance.

according to what?Β Romantic interests aren't a cliche, they're an essential component of the hero's myth.Β You don't create a less "cliche'd" story by removing it, you just make a less compelling story.

Romance itself isn't a clichΓ©, but it can make the story itself boring and drift away from the story if it's not used correctly. Nobody really has a way of knowing how they use it yet (though hopefully it'll be good ahhh), but that being said it's a more difficult place in writing to master.
But my point is just because someone doesn't like the idea of Toothless having a girlfriend doesn't mean they're heterophobic. (:

She is not a night fury. The director confirmed that she is a night fury subspecies and that Toothless indeed is the last of his kind, for now.

Well, breeding between subspecies is usually not a problem. And we don't really know how old he is, nor when his kinds reaches sexual maturity or how long their lifespans are.
