Excellent piece. Reminds a lot of Yoshitaka Amano's work, especially some of his old Vampire Hunter D and Elric of Melnibone sketches. You know, the facial structure, the smooth, slightly blurry shapework... I do also like the absence of colour, it fits in with the vibe of this drawing. I've seen character or creature concept art in videogames or visual novels looking much worse than that; means your level is pretty much pro.

Thanks B)! Designing the characters is my pride and joy. I also like Amano, but I rather try to study the source of his inspirations, like japanese woodblock prints and symbolism in art (tought someday when I have more money I want to buy some of the Amano's lithographs).

Tohon kysymykseen on vähän vaikea vastata lyhyesti, kun virallinen "piirrän hahmoja ja mangaa"-kausi alkoi 1997, joten niitä vaikutteita on todella paljon. Mutta minua on miellyttänyt aina vähän "aikuisemman näköiset tyypit, joilla on kapeammat silmät". Eli 90-luvun puolelta suosikkeina olivat street fighter artistit, Park Hee Jung, Lady Oscarin "pahat", random pelit ja yleensä tyyli mikä hallitsi/hallitsee Yoshiaki Kawajirin ohjaamissa animeissa (Ninja Scroll, Cyber_city_oedo_808 jne).

Sitten ne yleiset vaikuttajat:
kirjat, [link] muoti, historia, taiteessa symbolismi(kannattaa tsekata), elokuvat (Esim Blade, Underworld, Dark City ja Blade Runner), pelit (90-snes ja nes pelit, Castlevania, Shin Megami Tensei), britti tähdet, lukuisat mallipojat ja elävä malli. Sitten nää 80-luku leffat, piirretyt ja animet. Se 80-luku johtuu ihan siitä, että sain lapsena vaikutteita
siitä paljon, koska Suomi eli 90-luvulla viellä 80-luvulla. Ja tässä muutama artisti:
Kay Nielsen, Ayami Kojima, Harry Clarke, Park hee jung, Yoshitaka Amano, Super sentai- ja mecha sarjat(en mä niitä sarjoja seuraa, ihailen vaan niiden ohjausta ja hahmoja). Eli tämmöistä pohjoismaa-aasia vaikutteita, ja ihailen japanilaista estetiikkaa. Dynaamisuus on myös yksitärkeimmistä elementeistä mitä vaalin, ja siihen yhdistettynä samanaikaisesti rauhallisuus, niin ah! On hyvä tietää mistä pitää.
