Hi Guys !This is a cover I just finished. It's for a re-edition of fantasy novels I did covers for about six years ago (my first ones). So this is actually new version of this cover: [link]
This is one of the first images I've been doing after Berlin Made Symposium where I had my portfolio reviewed by Marko Djurdjevic, Coro and Esad Ribic. They gave me a lot of useful critique. So I'm trying to develop my illustrating abilities. I'm trying to use less effects and concentrate more on the painting, composition and anatomy. Hopefully in some time I'll get better and faster. Looking forward on this road, but it'll be a hard one
Hope you’ll like the image. I may change something after some time (it’s too fresh now to see all the mistakes). If there is something you don’t like please tell me.

edit: I edited the picture a liitle, corrected proportions of the rider, gave it a little different crop etc. thanks, for the comments and crits!

I totally disagree with the composition. (For the first time, because I always loved your work with colour composition.) It all seems to lack some free space on the right side. The sword tip is almost at the edge of painting and also Rogan is facing to the right.
As a huge fan of Černokněžník ( :-D ) I'm curious if there's another book planned.

Hrm. Not sure if it's easy to control a horse without having both reins in one hand. Just an observation. It's been 15 years since I did any riding, plus since it's likely a war horse... it prbly would have been trained to work on foot/ leg cues. lol

Wow, wonderful drawing!! So dramatic and dynamic! I don't know if it's just me, but I think the legs of the horse would look better if a little bit larger, or thinner... specially the ones on the back. I don't like the branches background too much aswell, I think they compete with the flag silhouettes and the blaze of the sword which I believe have a much stronger image. Maybe an abstract background would work better there. Just trying to help here, could be just my impression, it really looks great!

nice work! Love the horse....he is beautiful and actually looks more intelligent than his rider
I went through art school and actually work a lot with horses now and I think the overall piece is very well done! Great movement, composition, colors...
the only thing that I question is the right front leg of the horse(his right)....looks a little like it doesn't quite go with the horse ( they are often more narrow than we realize between the front legs) It's very slight, though
And do you think his bridle needs a strap across his nose? that would be how bridles are designed although that head is so beautiful that I almost don't want to detract from it....thats just a practical thought from a horse person who knows how a smart horse can spit out a bridle bit
