Description As a member of , I try to participate in the little events whenever possible. I missed the deadline for their latest show, a Summer Splash event, but was delighted when they extended the deadline. I was way busy in July and even August has been busy.

Originally, I planned to do Aquaman as a little joke. In light of the July 8th death of Ernest Borgnine (AKA the voice of Mermaid Man), I have decided to change it to Mermaid Man, because, really, Mermaid Man looks like Aquaman but is way better.

Event: FoalS_Summer_Splash_Show
Colt: Paranormal_Vortex
Breed: Thoroughbred

Early morning sunlight slanted into the stables and hooves impatiently pawed at the soft dirt beneath a yearling colt. "Easy, PV. Just hold still. The more you struggle, the longer this'll take."

"Adam, what are you doing to that poor horse?" Adam tensed at the voice before recognizing it as his best friend, Mike.

"'ey, Fletch. No one had any pink washable paint." Adam responded, applying another layer of nail polish to Paranormal Vortex's right hind hoof.

"That doesn't answer my question. Why are you applying pink nail polish to PV?" Mike was well aware that his best friend was strange sometimes, but he had no idea that he could be this weird.

"There's this little event for foals. Dress 'em up to celebrate summer and then you take a picture. Like, at a beach, or something. It's a Summer Splash event." Adam responded, indicating toward a crumpled flyer.

"And...you're painting a colt's hooves pink. That makes perfect sense. What the heck are you dressing him as?" Mike scoffed, looking rather dubious.

"Well, he's supposed to look like Mermaid Man when I'm finished." Adam responded sheepishly.

"Like, from Spongebob?"
"Precisely."
"You need help."
"I know. You could lend a hand, ya know. This stuff is washable, I already tested it on that grumpy horse, Olor. He's still got it on. Looks like an Indian Horse now, all painted for battle."

"I'll have to check that out later." Mike unscrewed the cap for the orange body paint, squirting some onto his hand and spreading it over the colt's withers. "What'll you do if your father comes in?"

"He won't. He left yesterday to pick up our new filly, Dark Impulsion and to fetch the colt, Shadow Hunter. He won't be back until tomorrow." Adam sounded rather pleased with this. No stress for 24 hours.

An hour passed and soon the colt stood with green stockings, a black rump, and orange chest. Adam was putting the finishing touches on. "Purple clam shell bra and purple star on his face." He stepped back to admire the handiwork. "Let's take him down to the water and get a picture."

And there we have it. Paranormal Vortex was turned from a dark bay splash colt into Mermaid Man for a few hours. I'm well aware that the coloring on PV is terrible but I'm sure it's difficult to apply body paint to a yearling that would rather be in the pasture.
That nail polish isn't coming off anytime soon either. X3
The anatomy sucks on this. I was referencing off a toy horse I've had since I was three. The head had to have been dragged across concrete because his head and ears are rather flat. O.o
RIP, Ernest Borgnine.
