Description
So for the past two years I’ve been collecting older comics especially from the Archie Sonic-Megaman line despite their cancellation alongside some DC/Marvel issues that’ve caught my eye whenever I pick up the recent IDW Sonic comics at my local comic shop provided that it’s there (although I don’t feel it’s right to complain about comic delays feel like I’m insulting someone) however I have ordered some offline, these being my recent purchases that I’ve decided to so off don’t expect this to be a recurring thing for I wanted to give a explanation for why I wanted to go out of my way to get these four.Archie Megaman issue 33 Box Art Brawl Variant
I’m not really a big fan of variant covers, but usually the exceptions being if the Variant catches my attention like this one where Megaman is squaring off the “Bad Box” Megaman that used for the well Box art for the US release of Megaman for the NES in the 80’s still don’t have a clue why they chose this instead of the original design, anyhow I find it hilarious that ol’ Rockman is going up against his “inferior” counterpart discounting Beck from Mighty No 9 even if it doesn’t correlate to the issue itself where it takes place after the events of the Shadow of Ra Moon the arc that is based off of the Japanese only Rockman Adventures, and he’s being repaired after unleashing a double charged Buster shot to completely decimate Ra Moon.
Archie Sonic issue 114
While not my first choice for adding a pre-160 issue to my Archie Sonic comic collection but I did want to add one regardless if some of the assholes did work on it and yeah the issue itself isn’t good, but I do like how it “homaging” the poster even if it’s not the best in my opinion.
Before I elaborate on the last two issues I have to discuss the Publisher that produced them, that being Dreamwave Publishing. Dreamwave was a Comic Publisher that existed in the early 2000’s and were the guys that produced the Transformers comics after Marvel comics lost the license in the 90’s, mostly the comic series were based off the G1 continuity, and two thirds of the Unicron Trilogy that was airing at the time it started to go down in quality, dull expressions and the Transformers looking like the Putties from Power Rangers, and the company went defunct, the main reasoning being that Pat Lee did business decisions that led the company going belly up alongside taking the credit of the artists that worked under him, and not bothering to pay them for their services essentially Ken Penders if he created a Comic Publisher, for more details I recommend reading the articles featured on tfwiki.net were they go in better detail then I have.
Dreamwave Transformers Armada issue 17
The only reason I got this particular issue out of the others available cause Transformers Armada was the show that got me into the Transformers franchise even if I’m an off/on fan of the series and this version of Optimus Prime being my second fave next to G1 so me getting this issue is more about nostalgia of watching a TV show when I was younger.
Dreamwave Megaman issue 2
This is an odd comic series that features the Bluebomber before Archie Comics got the license here it features Rock going to school posing as a normal kid but takes on his Megaman persona to fight Robotmasters that have been running amok while looking for Dr Light after he got kidnapped it’s somewhat similar to the “current” Megaman fully charged series on Cartoon Network only I don’t if it would get better or worse as time goes on, mostly due to it getting four issues out before Dreamwave went bankrupt, also I’m hoping that IDW will get the rights to produce Megaman comics from Capcom.
