Foreshortening is making the form of the human figure into a 3-d form on a 2d plane ( such as paper)

That's pretty amazing, but you got some parts wrong: Na'vi race has only eight fingers and eight toes, not ten. The ears are misplaced, they should be higher (ears lower part to eye-height and upper part to eyebrow-height. His waist should also be way more skinnier, he looks like he could gain a bit height too. Plus the light dots are not symmetric and do not follow as strait lines, and there should be way more of them in his face. Dig a bunch of screens out of the movie and you'll notice.

It is a 3d rendering. And it is a concept. It is not easy to transform a regular human male 3d mesh into a Na'vi. I had great help and support... We will try to fix fingers, ears and stuff for future versions....

it's a 3D... not painting... it's not easy to make body morph... M4 character have 5 fingers... not easy to change for 4 fingers...
so when I created my character ... I put "avatar"... and not "NA'VI"...
but this picture is great ... no ?

And excuse me, but there is both Na'vi and Avatar words displayed in the title, so how the heck was I supposed to know which one this was then? Avatar could have been either the sleepwalker or just the movie title. Duh.

It is an outstanding image. Shure the best I have ever seen. You are glad to have th chance and see it in 3D. With to little kids my wife and I went to the movie theater the first time since 3 years...

first time in three years?? oh my gollie ollie goodness!.. anyways.. my girlfriend and i snuck into half of the 3-D version it was SO amazing so much depth and detail and the animation was just fantastic! if you live near an I-MAX theatre they're showing it in 3-D there as well or.. at least they are in portland.(I-MAX has a half dome screen and the so the picture is amazingly huge, so huge it takes up nearly all of your peritheal vision AND it's in 3-D! i wannnaaa gooooooo!!)
