Description Chapter 2
Felix stood in the middle of the road, as if in a trance.  He knew it was pointless to try to catch up with the truck, but he didn't want to abandon Yuke either.  His owners would be soon, and he knew they would worry.
Felix heard a roaring behind him.  He jumped off the road just in time to avoid the speeding car.  He felt like it had woken him up from a deep dream.  A dream, that was it!  This was just a nightmare.  He would soon wake up in his cozy bed, the smell of fish floating about him.
But however much he wished it, he knew it wasn't a dream.   Felix walked home sadly, defeated, alone, empty.  Despite the hot sun, he felt frozen.  The yellow monster arrived to spit out Emily a few hours later.  She gave him a hug before running inside.  Felix followed her and lay down on the couch.
The mother and father got home about an hour later.  They seemed to notice his gloom, and fretted about him.  He heard "vet" and "sick", but most of the words were not familiar to Felix.  The hours passed slowly, and it seemed to take years for his owners to go to sleep.  Felix settled into his cat bed and closed his eyes.
When he opened them, it was morning.  He had slept late, and everyone was already gone, leaving Felix alone with his thoughts.  There was food in a dish, but Felix didn't feel hungry.  He still felt a lingering emptiness, but it was mixed with a new sense of purpose.  Somehow, he had decided that he was going to the pound to find Yuke.
Felix wasn't sure where it was, how to get there, or what to do once he finally arrived, but he decided he couldn't just let her rot in a cage.  He felt a mixture of fear and determination.  Felix had seen both cats and dogs taken by the Catchers.

Most never came back.
