Description
Original character to be part of my story, Vikriss. A psychotic forsaken demon with an addiction to dark magic. Of his vast magic, one ability is possessing spirits of the dead to do whatever he wills as well as dispersing spirits into powerful bursts of energy. When engaging in a battle, he always powers up his sword by sacrificing souls for added damage.----------
So all those ideas are planned to go in the final render, might give out a more detailed bio of him if people are actually interested.
I'll be trying a different approach to painting than my usual, starting with a tinted B&W render followed by color layers and final touch-ups.

Very nice. I like the detail in the shadows and clothing. The shadow by his left foot makes it look like he's floating, but I'll assume that's from his, uh, claw, wing thingie... o.0

Oooh~! I love this style. The little lighting makes the scene dramatic and intense. Accuracy of where the light hits along his left side; very well done C;
I'm working with the black and white under-drawings also, it's very different from inking and then colouring but I actually find that I prefer working with the different colour layers and the effects of overlays C; Good luck with the experimentation-- looks like you're doing really well with it so far.

From a quick test, color layers seem to work really well and give a different result from my old approach. Goodluck to you too! i want to see some new art from you soon

How do you find it, using CS3? To be honest, I really preffered CS2... Is that weird?
All I noticed different was a frustrating re-arrangement of icons... :/

I pretty much stick to basic tools so i didn't have trouble locating everything. I really like the new layout too. I remember reading somewhere that you can set everything to look just like CS2 for users that prefer the old layout.
