Here is my 2 original characters Lilly and Meebo. They look like a very odd couple but share a common personality.
Some people may remember the initial concept design of these characters: [link]
Lilly is an adventurous young artist with a love for green nature. Her favorite food is onigiri which she is about to eat and i believe Meebo wants some too.
As menacing as Meebo looks, he is a rather friendly creature that loves caring for the forest by eating and recycling dead plants. His diet is usually dead trees with the occasional bugs here n there.
Almost forgot to thank *Lady-Nihonto for comming up with the name Lilly and ~MKage for the name Meebo. Thankyas!!

Now, understand that I really don't care for the criteria drawn here, but the color job is excellent, and browsing through my gallery, I don't see much vibrance anymore (pastels must be the new thing this year :/ )

The background of lush jungle is just fantastic. I love the lighting. The characters are wonderful. Your use of colours is stunning.

I really enjoy the depth, the colours and the expression of light in this pic. I guess Lilly's face looks a little flat, but all in all it doesn't matter.

YAAAAAAY!!! you already know how much i love this piece.. ive been waiting for u to finally finish.. and im so glad.. anyways... what can i say.. the details on the trees are very nice.. i love the lighting too and u know i really want her outfit!! hee hee the little interesting details are so kool and fun.. like the lizard thing and the lil bunnies.. man this rox!! deffinitely a fav. and the atmosphere u created is so tricky to get right, esp with the creepy meebo creature lurking behind her n u still managed to make a dark mysterious jungle teaming with life rather than a dark creepy place. overall, this piece is excellent!! I LOVE IT!! GREAT JOB HUN!

That submission could be your best picture, currently, I think. It doesnt only look nice - the lightning is very good, as usual, and the Background really seems to live. This is one of the few Pictures, I really do learn from:
Like at your swordman-picture before, I can see "particles" again. Particle is a placeholder, as you may imagine. Im talking about the snow-flakes around the swordman and the fairies around Lily and her green compagnion.
But the best thing, within this picture, is not the look, it is the Idea. There is more difference between artists and drawers. Not just that you cant pull an artist open, to put things into him - drawers do often draw really good, and are able to catch a view and ban it onto paper - but artists got the extra-punch of phantasy.
I dont really like the dress of the girl that much, although I understood the opposition of the greenish natural look of the monster, and the pink/neon-green look of the girl. It just doesnt look that nice to me. But one thing I can say for sure: You are an artist.

Yeah i know the character design is not everyone's cup of tea, the color choice is one of those risky ones people will either love or hate. Very different from my usual but good to learn from experimentation.

How did you learn using a drawingpad? I used one on my own once, for a short amount of time: It was horrible. I thaugt I had forgotten everything I learned about drawing, as I saw the terrible result.
