Description
It is a robotic Bearded Vulture named Vortex. He is a robotic bird but looks like he has real feathers. You can see the robotics around his eye. He is a villian of mine that holds much mystery. He is a human soul stuck in a body of a robotic vulture. And he would be very hard to hide from. His eye can sense your heat and he would stalk you to learn your every move. He is also known for dimensional jumping and sometimes time travel. I will tell you more about him when I draw more pics of him.It is based on a real bird called the Bearded Vulture.
I inked this pic with Micron pens. So far, I have to say this is one of my best inked pieces. I don't do this very often because it does eat my Micron pens.

cool. i have turky vultures where i live. and i saw a few feasting on a dead seal. ooh. and while i was walking on the beach, i saw about three or four dead squids. their eyes were picked out. lol.

This is impressive. Ink is not a very forgiving medium, and you've handled it well.
The only real problem lies, as with the last, in the details. You've got three base textures: the head feathers, the mantle feathers, and the primaries. If you stand back a little, you can see how they form a little bit of a pattern down the back of the bird. I would suggest further variation. You're background says it's a cyborg, so delving into this theme for the details could prove useful.
Part of this problem could stem as far back as the conception and framing of the drawing. The bird is highly detailed, but because of its pose, the amount of different details are limited. In consequence, the details begin to form in a bland pattern instead of enhancing the work. Variation in the pose could fix this. A frontal view with one with closed and one open behind the watch would allow for a much larger variation in the textures and also let you move deeper into the robotic side of the bird.
But don't change the watch. I love it the way it is.

This is the first time I did Vortex in detail and you do make good points. Which I do need to draw him more again in different poses. I will keep your tips in mind when I do draw him again. Thanks for your help.

oh my, when I first read "It is a robotic Bearded Vulture." I cracked up.. it just sounds so funny, but jeez lo' weez batman nice detail n creativity in this one.. I don't have a lot of patients for micro pens, blah. I shall now look up el bearded Vulture.

Thanks! I like inking from time to time and I am pretty good at it. I like playing around with robotic animals. My one creature Hela you can see part skin on one side and robotic parts on the other. Right now I only have a sketch of her in my gallery but she'll start looking more robotic once I add some ink to her [link] .
