Description

The Needle is practicably a super-sized fighter jet on steroids. With its massive engine output, it is as fast and manoeuvrable as ships much smaller than itself. Armed to the teeth, it outguns every ship its size. Designed for protecting less armed or hardly manoeuvrable ships from space fighters and missiles, its secondary purpose is to eventually make use of its heavy plasm guns and MAC to attack larger ships.

It is a ship of war, used in space battles only and build only during war times. The missions usually last as long as the battle lasts, therefore the crew can be kept to a minimum, because maintenance will be done at its port (often an Advector). Due to its risky tasks, duty on these ships is regarded as heroic.
