Many miles away from Porygon Stadium, a woman in a thin suit of armor sat in a dimly lit room. her hands were clasped together as monitors of all shapes and sizes encircled her. Each monitor had a different image on the screen. The first had a Rotom on it. The Rotom's orange, cube-like body gave of a lively red aura that split off into two arm-like appendages. It was shaped like a microwave-oven and had a gentle smile on its face. She had taken this one down rather easily, but that was a long time ago. It had just been a simple little orange-and-blue Rotom back then. Recordings of the Rotom fighting with other trainers have been filmed. Fire and electricity rained down above the opponents in a flurry of raw power and ecstatic beauty, causing a large cloud of dust to form after the strike. When the dust settled, the opponents were knocked out cold.

"This one could be trouble if the boy uses him." She thought "I could strike it down while they rest, and are off guard, but there would be no fun in that.

The next screen showed a large and powerful Aggron. The sun glinted of its white-and-black exoskeleton, while two massive horns jutted out of its head. The Aggron had a brave, sturdy, never-say-die look on its face. It was built like a wrecking ball, no, more like a tank. Its blue eyes shone with power, confidence, and passion. The screen next to this pokemon showed a ferocious battle. The Aggron took a very strong blow of water square to the chest, and shrugged it off. It charged toward the opposing pokemon and slammed it with it's tail. The opponent was sent flying backwards into a thick, concrete wall.

"Hmm, A ground-steel type. Strong in the physical and mental aspect. As long as I have a water type on me, it'll be nothing but a husk by the end of the battle. The woman thought.

On the next screen was an arrogant, cocky orange-ish pokemon with a black stripe down its middle. He had sections of shedded skin over the lower part of his body, and above his stomach area. The pokemon was identified as Scrafty. It had a wild look in its eyes, and they shifted back and forth constantly. They had the kind of look in them that would make you check your bag or pockets to see if anything valuable was missing. The screen shifted to a recorded coliseum battle. The Scrafty facing of against what could have been the end of it, A psychic-flying type known as Sygilyph. It rushed him with a barrage of flying-type attacks. After the Sygilyph's turn was over, the Scrafty merely smiled. A dark energy pulsed through his hand, and he slapped the opponent straight to the ground. The Scrafty's eyes and smile winded, and continued to attack the poor Sygilyph. The Scrafty would of killed it if the Sygilyph's trainer didn't recall it in time.

"This one is very unstable, violent and unpredictable. she grinned and tapped the screen. "I like this one. After I defeat its trainer, I'll run some tests on it. Find out what makes it tick."

The woman spun around in her chair to see the pokemon being observed behind her. On the screen was a big, round black-and-gray Dusknoir. It had a red bow-tie, and a steely look on its face. It was cold, calculating, and like the Scrafty, it was absolutely vicious. The only difference is that the Dusknoir knew when to stop. A battle was being played above the Dusknoir's profile. By the time she looked up, the video was over. The pokemon it faced was shivering in the corner. It took hours before the trainer could coax it out of the corner and into its poke-ball.

"Another keeper. When I posses this one, I think I shall make it 'discipline' some of my out-of-shape troops. If its intimidation does not get to them, its fists certainly will."

The screen above the Dusknoir's showed a yellow and purple bug/electric-type pokemon classified as Galvantula. This Galvantula had a Monocle and a gentleman's attitude. It was swift, graceful, and absolutely stunning, with absolute loyalty to its trainer. The Galvantula dodged almost every blow that was sent his way and sent a blow back with twice the punishment. It would wrap its foes up with an Electroweb, then deliver the knockout blow.

" This much grace and finesse is wasted on such a disgusting little insect. That one shall be mounted on my wall."

The woman turned her attention from that screen to another. On this screen was a sliver, black, and yellow pokemon known as Escavaleir. This one was a bit of a klutz and tended to miss many of the attacks it issued. The battle above was almost painful to watch. The Escavaleir fainted in only two hits.

"This one is spineless, but has much potential. Once I obtain this one it will be ruthless. A machine of pure destruction."

She turned her attention to the second-to -last screen. The Pokemon there was a colossal, blue tortoise. It had a black, rocky shell and chunks of stone that acted as face plating. It had a massive beak and two sharp nibs extending down from below its eyes. The Pokemon was identified as Carracosta, an ancient pokemon that went extinct about three hundred million years ago. Thanks to the marvels of science and technology, they were able to extract DNA from a select fossil and bring this hulking beast back to life. It carried itself like an arrogant old man. It was built like a rock, charging through attacks with a blatant disregard for personal safety. It took blow, after blow, after blow, after blow. It showed no signs of slowing down or stopping.

"Such bravado and pride. It's such a shame that I have to crush this one." The woman thought.

Finally, she turned to the last screen. It showed a fourteen or fifteen year-old boy. He had spiky brown hair, rectangular glasses, and a black tee-shirt that had a picture of a white beaker on it. A poke-ball clip hung from the brown leather belt on his blue jeans. His light brown eyes were calm, caring, and gentle. "It's a wonder how such a soft, spineless, boy can command these marvels." The woman thought, looking at all of the previous screens. When she turned back to the final screen, it showed all of the pokemon on the previous screens, standing behind the boy.

The woman had a malicious smile on her face

"Oh, little Dan Andrews. I can't wait for you to get here. You'll rise so high, and then I'll send you crashing down to earth."

She turned to an intercom device and pressed a button

"What's the status on the captured pokemon?" she asked

"Extremely resilient," A voice replied with a hint of static. "Despite our best efforts, we haven't managed to break it yet."

"Amp up the voltage on the cell bars. We'll break this Herdier one way or another." she said in a cold tone.

"Andrews, for you and your friends sake, you had better make it in time. I grow more bored by the second."
