EDIT: PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING.Okay, so, I've been getting a few comments about Donnie liking April and the such..... GUYS, THIS IS THE 80'S CARTOON, NOT THE 2003 ONE. Don does not love April, and no other possible love interests from the second series exist in this one (including Karai). Honestly, I can't even see how it's confusing, since Kala, Lotus Blossom, and Mona don't even appear in the 2k3 show. -_-
........ it never fails, does it? i mean, i'm not even all that into tmnt couples (shocker, right?), yet i STILL make pairing art of it. D:
haha, anyway, all the canon pairings of the old toon. I think they're all pretty cute. for those of you who don't know....
Michelangelo is paired with Kala, a Neutrino from Dimension X. He had a couple other crushes or whatever, I believe, but Kala was definitely the most prominent. In fact, out of all the turtles' love interests, she appears the most.
Leonardo is paired with Lotus Blossom, a ninja for hire basically. She was originally hired to kill the turtles off, but ended up switching sides. Sort of. Haha, I love this pairing, mostly because lovesick Leonardo is one of the most adorable things ever. XD I mean, the first thing he says when she speaks to him is "She's magnificent!"..... Really, Leo? The girl just kidnapped your sensei and challenged you to a fight, and you're swooning over her? XD
Raphael is paired with Mona Lisa, a college girl who got turned into a mutant. Ironically, this pairing is actually rather popular (at least compared to the other two). I mean, Mona Lisa only appears in one episode, and then mysteriously disappears. It's such a small appearance, yet she has quite a few fans.
And poor Donatello never got a love interest of his own. It's all right, Don, you can always "do" your machines as always. 8D -shot-
Ah, well, this was pretty fun to make. maybe i'll draw a new toon one, just for kicks.

I don't particularly agree with that... April's pretty much just playing him like a violin, and I really don't appreciate that . I've seen all the episodes, and she's pretty nasty to him when it comes to his feelings; it's like she enjoys seeing his emotional turmoil

Eh, true. But I have to say, I'm pretty sure his feelings for are (at least for the most part) more infatuation than actual romantic interest; I mean, he 'fell in love' wit her just because she was beautiful. Um... yeah. To me, that's not love. I didn't particulatly like April in the beginnijg, but I tolerated her. Then, the started making her a bit Mary Sue-ish, and made her the center of a lot of more elaborate plots. But what bugs me is her treatment of a poor sweetie like Donnie >.<

April's not even beautiful. To me. She has a weird face, her hair is scarce, looks dyed, she has unfitting freckles (it doesn't look good on her on my opnion), her clothes are too sticked to the body, she looks like a retarded teenager that wants to look badass with that pair of ranges she has

Eh, I think it could work, but no incarnation has been able to do it..... well? He didn't get a love interest in the 80's series, and the 2k3 series had a couple one-shot characters and his crush on April, none of which really went anywhere or were handled that well to begin with. His crush on April in the 2k12 series just rubs me the wrong way, because the way it started seemed so out of character. Donnie is the LAST turtle I would expect to have love at first sight. That'd be more likely for someone more emotionally driven, like Mikey.

Well Don's 2k12 version all together is screwed up. He was, in earlier versions, the level headed turtle that kept everyone together. Now he seems just as irritated as Raph sometimes.

Maybe it stems from the fact that people associate brainy people with "less emotion." :^/ Which is unfortunate.
I think this Donny would need another mutant, but one that was not raised as a human because he had issues with humans. Then again, that could be an interesting arc, coming to accept that he was attracted to a human despite having an ideological snag.

Well, even though Mona did not get a lot of screen time, her design was good, and she did get an action figure, didn't she?
I know Kala got one, too, but I can see how some people may not even like the Neutrinos at all (I was a big Neutrino fan as a kid).

Eh, I wouldn't say her design was any better than any of the other characters. She was cute, but I don't think it really stood out compared to anyone else. And the action figure thing doesn't really mean much, cuz everybody and their mom got a TMNT action figure made after them back then. Even characters not in the show, iirc.
Honestly, it's probably because she was the first (and only?) female mutant in the show, and cute to boot. People didn't latch on to Kala because of her odd voice, and since Lotus was a villain, she didn't get much attention either (plus, you got the much more interesting Karai when the later series came out).
