This is the original illustration from "The Promise", the Timedancer story that I wrote for TGS where Brooklyn and Sata return to Ishimura 5 years after the Phoenix Gate took both of them away. Brooklyn resolves himself to leaving Sata behind even though they have fallen in love but Sata surprises him by asking him to accept her as his mate.At some point, I should really, really re-draw this. After all the research that I've done for "Tengu", this pic makes me cringe now. On the plus side, someone *actually* cosplayed Sata in this outfit at one of the Gatherings, I forget which one. (If anyone remembers, please speak up -- all I remember is that the girl who did it was named Heather and she had cosplayed as Hudson in Dallas.) It was an amazing costume and she even duplicated the cranes and flowers as I had them on the skirt.

Lovely picture. I remembered when i got to this chapter. It was great. It's kinda funny cause in the later chapters when he arrives in the future, he refuses to wear pants, which originally is part of the futuristic suit he's gonna be wearing, but he doesn't seem to have any trouble wearing a hakama, which also is some kind of pants.

I was just browsing through DA's Brooklyn stuff and after a while this came up making me have to stop and comment on it again even though it's been just under a three weeks of 5 years since it was posted up on DA. Still makes me smile every time I see it, and tonight it makes me want to read that "episode" over again because I loved it so much.
... And of course it makes me can't wait for the next chapter(s) to your gargoyle stories. Hope the writing is going well!

Aww.. that's so sweet.. cute picture.. very. X3 I like Brooklyn's hair. THey both look so refined. Sata's dress... well, all the clothing, is amazing. So many details.. like the crane... I can't beleivesomeone cosplayed that! Texttuuuures...

Forgive me but I HATE even the concept of Timedancer, but this is an excellent fan piece and I applaude you for it. Even though the female's dress calls attention away from everything else. If you do redraw it, I'd suggest a background with something rather ornate to the back of Brooklyn to balance the picture.

One of my favorite "episodes" of Timedancer! I love it! As I remember, it's tough enough getting Brooklyn to even consider anything other than his loincloth but to get him to do this. Man Sata's got him wrapped around her tallon... but we wall know Brooklyn likes it
