The one thought I've had

Something that should've stayed hidden
Forever
In my heart,
But I let it out,
And now I'm afraid,
Not only of my sin,
But what the future holds.
I wish not to scare away
The thing that gives me joy
Whenever I need it,
So fear moves through my body,
It hasn't left me since,
I suppose it will remain there,
Until I know what comes next.
