I've been drawing since I was 2 and I'm 18. ^-^ But if you'd like some help, I could give you some advice...what's your technique? How good are you at looking at things in terms of lines? That sort of thing.

Ah, that might be your first problem. I could never draw well when I tried to use those kinds of books. Sure, you can take a tip or two from them, but when you use them fully you lose the you you're supposed to put into art. 
Do you draw well while staring at an object? If so, maybe try that, while simultaneously starting to memorize it's machanics/how it moves.

haha, I came home from seeing it the first time and found that the only dA groups at the time were like "yeah uh no slash, it doesn't make sense" and I was like "DID THESE PEOPLE EVEN SEE THE BANK SCENE??"
