This is definitely going to raise a few eyebrows, but I think that Mr. and Mrs. Turner from The Fairly OddParents are two of the most overhated characters on the show (if not, THE most), and while I understand why people dislike them, I think that the fans are WAY too hard on them.
I know that they neglect Timmy (and I agree that it's wrong), but I think people overlook the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Turner genuinely loved and cared about Timmy when they were with him (at least in seasons 1-5). In fact, I would say that in earlier seasons, they were more oblivious than clueless. Sure they aren't perfect parents (I don't think there is such a thing), but I'd say their earlier season counterparts did their best.
Again, while I understand why people dislike them, I think the hate towards Mr. and Mrs. Turner is WAY overblown. Besides, there are far worse parents in other media (i.e. Pacifica's parents from Gravity Falls, the Wormwoods from Matilda, the Klaxons from Wendell & Wild).
UPDATE: Just to clarify, while they were flanderized, I do not think their early seasons counterparts deserve to get lumped with their later season ones.
