Apparently this is kind of an issue here on DA, so here's a short tutorial on how to convert DA Points into real money. <3
*hint: DA takes 20% of your money, so make sure you calculate that in the price of what you are selling or consider having them pay you through paypal instead.
If you use this feature you should make sure use the 100p = 1$ system when selling your stuff (adoptables, commissions, etc.) because otherwise you lose quite some money (however, you do so by using points as a currency in the first place).

I don't quite understand the question. Everything that's in your "earnings" can be transfered into cash and sent to your Paypal account.

Oh, okay. I wasn't too sure, because the way it was made out to be made it seem like the only legitimate way of getting points was to offer downloads people paid for.

No, and this is the point of adding a 'purchase button' because there is no way you can 'legally' (at least according to DA) convert points that have been donated to you to real cash. I know some people tried to do this in various clever ways (because, yes, technically it is possible and easy) but this might get you banned from DA - and I know a few guys who got banned for doing this.
Only the points you receive though the 'commission widget' and through the purchase button / premium content automatically go to earnings

Can you limit how many times the purchase button can be pressed?
Like say I do a single adopt and the person you wants to adopt it pays for it.

No, but you see if someone pressed it (it doesn't tell you who did, however) and then you can turn if off manually if that's what you want.

I don't really see the point of the commission widget because it costs you points each time someone commissions you. Anyways, check the 'Earnings' section: If those points (that you earned via the widget) are there you can convert them, if not then no.

You actually don't need to be a beta-tester for this. I've done this twice now and I've only had a premium membership active when doing it.

You will have to check with PayPal - you can definitely do it somehow - but not through DA (as much as I am concerned) but through PayPal.

Could it work with commissions? I don't see how it could really, considering that you would have to post the commission first and the receive all of the payment. takes a lot of trust XD

Well, I usually work on a commission AFTER I receive payment (most artist I know do it that way).
And yes, you can basically set a price for your commission and have an uploaded, random picture where customers pay for the commission beforehand via the purchase button - I do it like this - [link]

Aieee, don't do that, darling. DA has a policy against that. You are technically able to do that but you might get banned for doing it. DA doesn't want us to convert points that we already have that are not in our 'Earnings'.
You are allowed to create a purchase button and have OTHER people buy your stuff via that though. I know it's strange but that's the way it is I guess.

But I personally wouldn't do that because that's one of the things that might get you banned. It happened to a person I know here on DA, she got banned for a month - Apparently you are not allowed to do that.

I remember I once made a journal about if it would be possible to turn points into money, but all people told me itΒ΄s not possible because DA wants us to give money to get points LOL
I never spent any money to get points. I got them all buy selling adoptables.
But when I go to become a beta-tester now, and still sell my adoptables for 10 - 25 points only, (think about how many I sell very well in a very short time and get more then 2000 points in a short time) would it be wise to follow this tutorial?
I always was dreaming about making real money with my adoptables. Actually I only sell them because I need to financee my Premium-Membership. ThatΒ΄s the reason why I donΒ΄t sell adoptables all the time.
But when I can turn the other many points into money again, it would help alot!

Yes, if you have a Premium membership AND are selling adoptables you should definitely follow this tutorial and set up something like a purchase button for them. It's pretty easy AND you get money by selling your pictures - That's quite something <3
But a word of caution: You shouldn't try to turn the points you ALREADY have into money - apparently DA has a rule against that and this just might get you banned. Better invest those points in a Premium instead and sell the adoptables you make NOW (via the purchase button) - those points will go to your 'Earnings' - those are the points you will be able to transform into money.
