Hello DeviantART! it's been a long time, I suppose. Not sure if anyone in this community is still active, but here's a new piece I posted on Instagram!

The last photo in this set was a drawing I made in college in 2008.

When I was younger, I was fixated on poison dart frogs and their bright, saturated, vivid colors, so this was a fun project and probably still what I consider one of my best drawings.

Over the years I haven't spent as much time on a single piece of art, typically just doodling after work for a few hours and moving on to the next piece. I decided to re-visit this and implement some of my own artistic style, but wanted to spend about the same amount of time as I did on the old one.

I didn't view the original drawing or photo as reference, but it was a fun experience revisiting the challenges of what made my old drawing come to life. It hangs in my living room above my TV, so I've spent countless hours staring at it over the past 15 years.

My hope is that this will help me continue to grow as an artist and push the same boundaries beyond those I overcame 15 years ago. Also I grew tired of showing off the same old artwork 😆 Someone remind me in 15 years to do this again!
