Ok. I'm totally into the Big Four/Jarida fandom, so I decided to make a modern!AU, and this is the first of a serie.
Basically, Merida is the daughter of the city mayor, Elynor, who's a very respectable and strong woman. By the way, Meri didn't like the works that Elynor gave her, like working as volunteer at the nursing homes, prefering spending her time at the archery club or at the riding school with her childhood friends, Hiccup, Punzie and Eugene: Hic is the instructor and the owner of the school with his father, wile the other two are professional riders.

One day, her mother ask Meri to go with her to visit an old college friend of her, a social worker named Nicolaus, who has returned in the town after almost twenty years. Despite she's very annoyed by this request, she goes with her parents to Nick's place. The man it's very happy to see his friends and their four sons, introducing them his cousin Sand, his son Ester (with his girlfiend, Tathiana) and his two nephews, Jack and Emma. Immediately, Jack (who's Meri coetaneous) starting talk with Merida and make her comfortable. Jack become the riders group's new friend, expecially with Merida, and after one year the two start dating.

This picture it's a scene I figured in my head: during an argument, Merida say to Jack that he don't know nothing about high responsability or family issues, 'cause his family it's allways all-happines-and-no-problems. Looking at her, Jack affirm sadily that he knows too much, sice he has lost his parents in a car accident, and that he almost die too, in order to save his sister's life. They passed very hard times in the past nine years. Shoked, Merida runs away in the parck, starting crying and calling herself stupid and selfish. After a wile, Jack come to her and, giving her jacket, hug her.
