well, I didn't used tripod.
the bees were flying around so I didn't had enough time to set A tripod.
I walked in field of sunflowers and searched for bees.
I took the camera and done many many shots on many sunflowers.
as you see in the Exif I used pretty high ISO to get fast shutter speed.
you should try it sometime.
it's not hard at all.
if you need any help, I'm here

this is unbelievable! beautifull.
how is this possible? F number 1.0? are there lenses with this F-number? what kind of lens is it? zoom? or fixed focal length?

thanks.
don't hurry to check lenses with F 1.0 number.
I don't have F.1 lens and I don't think there's such lenses in the market this days.
the lens is manual all the way including the aperture ring.
the numeber 1 you're seeing in the exif data on F number is the emount of times I close the aperture in the shot.
1 is actually F4 on the lens.
the lens isn't zoom, it's prime 90 mm, with maximum aperture of 2.5 and minumal aperture of 32.
it's Tokina Brand and it's very old lens that produce wonderful colors and very very sharp details if you're using it right.
thank you

i'm somewhat of a novice... but how do you choose exactly what you want fuzzy or clear in the picture?
π: 0 β©: 1
NadavDov In reply to Astarlen [2007-08-18 20:31:17 +0000 UTC]
well, you're talking about sharpness, depth of field.
I choose it by selecting my subject in the frame and focusing on it.
now, if I'm with the right lens and the right aperture I can Isolate my subject from the background and emphesize the subject itself.
by focusing my subject the beckground behind it become blur.
In macro shots like I took here the isolation is much easier because I phisically close to my subject and this thing allow me to clear my subject from the shot with much more effective blur.
I Hope I explained it right
