Description
In elvish lore, the blade is named "Amdirleth," meaning "Hope's Fury" in the common tongue.
Forged in the hidden halls of Elenion Ancalima, the highest of elven citadels, Amdirleth was created in an age when the world was young and the stars newly kindled. Its blade was drawn from the purest mithril, quenched in the light of the full moon and engraved with ancient runes of power. These runes, visible only to those of royal blood, were said to bind the very essence of wind and storm within the steel. Amdirleth was both protector and destroyer, its beauty as compelling as the calm before the storm, yet its wrath was as fearsome as the tempest's heart. It was passed down through the generations of elf-lords, a symbol of their right to rule and a guardian against the encroaching dark. Each king left his mark upon Amdirleth, a tale etched into its runes, empowering the blade with the history of its noble lineage. But with power came peril. In the hands of the unworthy, the sword's destructive might could be unleashed, laying waste to friend and foe alike. Its last master, King EΓ€rendil the Star-sighted, wielded Amdirleth in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. There, the blade's fury was let loose, and the field was cleared as if a wild storm had raged through it. After the battle, both king and blade were lost to legend, with only the whispers of Amdirleth's power left echoing through the corridors of time, waiting for a worthy heir to claim its might once more.
